Hi Jeannie! Congratulations!!!!! We're all looking forward to this party.

Of course you can check in. You'll want to test once a week or so, anyway, so feel free to post a condo letting us know how you and Cairo are enjoying the falls!

One piece of advice from someone whose kitty went OTJ and fell out of remission a year later: don't get complacent. Cairo is not cured, but in remission. You still need to feed low carb and keep an eye out for the warning signs - increased thirst, urination, etc. Cinco fell out because of an infection he contracted, and I didn't catch it right away because I got lazy and didn't test for several months. Bad bean! :? Don't be like me! That said, enjoy the freedom you now have from t/f/s twice a day, and enjoy your healthy, happy kitty!! :-D :-D :-D

Seriously, I had that very same thought when we went OTJ. I felt like I was constantly forgetting to do something! Stay on the low-carb diet and check glucose about once a week indefinitely. If Cairo's numbers happen to start rising, post here for guidance. I've seen/read here that some cats will fall out of remission due to dry food sneaking back into the diet or an infection (e.g., dental or bladder).

Congrats Jeannie and Cairo. I'm so very happy for you two.

Congrats!! Loved the OTJ video. Too funny about Cairos dress :lol: :lol: :lol: she earned it....she is a lovely kitty.

Try not to test four times a day ;-)
