Hi from Camp Stu,

Very late today. We had to get to the start of the 90-mile canoe race early and there was no time to post. We were there all day. Rusty spent the day sleeping. He hardly touched the food in his automat. But he was mighty interested in hunting red squirrels late this afternoon ( they got away). His numbers are not surprising, since we get these bounces/stress indicators every time we drive to camp or to the city. Rusty doesn't like his routines messed with!

It was a great first day with light winds and not too hot. Our friend, for whom we pit crew, had a personal best for the first day of the race: under 6 hours for the 33 miles (including about 3.5 miles of carries). Tomorrow we are supposed to h ave heavy rain all day. It is the toughest day of the race and includes a punishing carry of 2 miles on a steep trail around falls/rapids. In heavy rain it will be realy tough. We don't have to do anything tomorrow because to reach the carry and get back again to the road is a 10-mile hike. He is on his own!

To visit some condos now. I'm sorry to have missed so many lately and am thinking of all of you. Thanks for visiting Rusty.

Hi Ella - Your day sounds great, tiring, but great. And oh my on tomorrow. A rugged 2 mile carry? I can't even imagine... And I so hope he weather is more favorable... It sounds like he had a great day today - kudos to him!

Bummer on Rusty's numbers today, but it is explainable I think. Hopefully they will come down as he settles in for a few days. Paws crossed. Rusty - blues at least OK? :-D

Happy Red Squirrel hunting oh Mighty Hunter!

Enjoy your evening Ella, I hope it is a good one.

Wow a 90 mile canoe race sounds like quite the feat! Your adventures have been getting more and more exciting as the summer comes to an end! Congratulations to your friend for their accomplishment today and good luck on finishing it up tomorrow. Sending safety vines to help keep you sturdy if the rain mucks things up. Perhaps Rusty may be seeing some better numbers tomorrow after his string of yellows today!?

Hope you have a great night and thanks for checking in on us :-D

Wow, exciting race for your friend and wishing him the best. I bet Rusty's numbers will come down tomorrow once he gets settled and comfy in his surrounds. Have a good night.

Flat yellow, I hope that means better numbers tomorrow. Any pukus in the car? Canoeing sounds like a bunch of fun. The 2 mile carry in the heavy rain? Not so much.
