Hey guys
His numbers are COMING DOWN. I am doing the happy feet dance over here.
His +6 on the night cycle was 325 and his amps is 295 yippeeee
I just started the zero carb food yesterday and this is his first yellow in weeks.

HE'S ALMOST IN THE POOL. i don't believe it. now i'm getting nervous. i am going to test him at+6 and +9 to make sure he's not dropping too much. should i be wor

That's fantastic news! I'll be interested to see how the Young Again affects his numbers.

Hi Nadine..just popped in to reassure you. No need to worry about the 200 right now, that is well within normal range, but the fact that he dropped 95 points, means you need to monitor to see what his nadir is. Most cats nadir at +6-7. If he drops below 50, then you should intervene with a little food. If it were me I would get at least a +5 and then go from there and make sure to post the #. I will be around, as Im sure others will too. Dont forget to breathe..he is doing great!

Edit:shouldve said 200 is not a low enough # to worry about..not within "normal" range, normal is between 80-120.

Once he goes off the dry completely, you may need less and less insulin, but for now, he is doing better on this dose. Its a good thing to see him on less insulin and getting those lower #s! It can be scary at first when they start dropping, but dont worry, he has you, and he will be fine! :smile:

Hes just surfing..basically what we call "flat". No need to do anything at this point. If you can get another test at +7 that will probably be the best just to see if he will drop any more, but if he does, it might not be much. Sometimes we see an "active cycle" after a string of flat yellow #s, so he may decide to drop tonight.
 
That is a bounce. Not surprising. It means his liver knows something is different and it is panicking. Dont worry totally normal, and he will be fine. This is a GOOD thing
