The getting better numbers slowly but surely Condo (09/05)

09/05 RECAP:
AMPS - 203
+1.75 - 157

PMPS - 156 (first blue pre-shot in four cycles!!!)

So Skooter got his first blue preshot in about 4 cycles...super happy. I have a headache and didn't get as much sleep as I had hoped, so I am going btc until his +2. I woke up for no reason around his +9.5, and he was lying next to me, so I figured I would test to see where we were. When I got the 178, I prepared myself for another yellow pre shot number, so imagine my surprise when I woke up to a 160. Even though I think that is still within meter variance, I am prepared for a bit of an active cycle as he seems to be trending back down vs staying the same or going up after the +9.5.

I really took to heart what was said about him sensing my stress level. So I have really made a point of trying to be more calm and chill around him and relaxed. Taking my time with shooting to make sure I am getting it in, making sure I don't touch the plunger until I know it is in etc.

I also think this was good. I do think he was maybe moving a little too fast down the scale, and it is obvious he is not quiet ready for his OTJ trial....hopefully in time, he will decide it is something that he wants to do. I am trying to be ever so patient with this process. The brick wall was the perfect analogy as that is exactly what this feels like....I also need to stop racking my brain on what I have done wrong, because this is Skooter's dance, not mine....and I need him to take the lead...he is a boy afterall, so :)

I am hoping to catch up on visiting and commenting on condos today....I feel bad I haven't been able to comment a lot the this week....this was a toughie at work and add in Skooter's "issues".....I have been reading, though!

Very nice start for SkooterPie today!

Excellent epiphany, too. It takes us beans a while to get to the point when we realize the kitties - and not us - are in control. And believe me we still relapse sometimes (I'm STILL always trying to figure they "whys" behind Trix's numbers, especially since she's a non-traditional OTJ kitty...she really keeps me scratching my head), but that's all part of the dance, too. The best part is that we're all in this together...you are with a group that totally, completely understands!

I hope you're headache is gone and that you had a great BTB.

I have noticed that a some people try to give food to slow down dives etc....I am not really sure how all that works, but I am going to give him a few teaspoons of LC to see if I might be able to slow his roll down a bit.....

He seems to enjoy his extremes these days....brick wall or cliff diving :roll:

Skooter! I guess you had enough of the let's-mess-with-the-bean's-head game! Good kitty. Now hang out in some nice numbers for a while to give the bean a break.

True, Molly. The cats do lead in this dance. Tough for those of us who are used to being in control!

I pretty much fed Jersey whenever she wanted ohmygod_smile ....but when I saw what I thought was going to be a really active cycle (like Skooter's today), I tried to slow her down with LC, too. Sometimes, it worked....sometimes, she dove anyway. What was that conversation about the kitties leading the dance????? :lol:

I think it's a good idea to try the LC at this point. I hope it works for you!

So he went down, but within meter variance, and since I have never tried to get him to surf with additional food before, not sure if he would have gone lower had I not giving food or what.....I am going to test again in about 20 minutes (+4) and see where we are at....

Hoping to get most of my downstairs cleaned today and then focus tonight on laundry and perhaps a little crafting (thinking I will try to start to design my Christmas cards and Skooter's.....I know it may seem like a long way off, but I have to make 85 for me to send at I think we are up to 15 for Skooter to send....and trust me, if I had the addresses of all my LL family, Skooter would be sending all his sugarcat friends a card as well!)

We shall see what Skooter is going to ALLOW me to do or not do........

He better give me permission to go out for a little bit....just realized I am on my last 50 strips and need to get some more!

Just had to share.....

today I really felt like I was able to pay it forward.....

I helped my first kitty (in the Relaxed Forum) from a 37 to currently a 73......

It felt very cool to be able to help someone else out like you all have helped me :)

Since Skooter just had that recent blip on his spreadsheet, should I be expecting more bouncing?

I am just wondering with his recent yellow stay, and then today spending some lovely hours in the green, should I expect his body to be reacting a little bit and possibly have higher numbers?

Tomorrow morning I leave at +1 and should be back by +5.5, so I am sure hoping my Skooter boy behaves tomorrow!

you can try to predict what Skooter will do, but . . . he's in charge!

it is always a good idea for any cat, to give a couple of teaspoons of regular low carb when they first get to green. that can help them stay there.

we know that MOST cats will slow down and stop bouncing when they spend more and more time in green, but not all cats read the manual. Some, like Jersey, bounce all the way to OTJ. Hard to say what skooter will do next.

great job helping bring up the low numbers in Relaxed! That's how this website works - everyone's volunteering to teach what they have mastered themselves.

Nice job getting Skooter to surf, Molly. Now it looks like you have a permission slip to go out!

It does feel nice when you can help someone else. It doesn't happen to me often, but when I can share what I've learned I feel less like a taker and more of a giver. You made me feel good today when you said you took my comment about your stress level to heart. I'm glad you did - I really do believe that they feel our moods and it affects them. So :-D more! and :sad: less! :lol: - more of that, too!

Keep up the good work, and good luck getting your crafting done.

So went downstairs to do some cleaning and fell asleep :roll: Guess my body thinks I need more sleep.....

Hoping to get some stuff done tonight.....his PMPS is a little higher than I would like, but given where he has been lately, its a win!

I am also encouraged looking at his last test from the previous cycle and then looking at the preshot number....both times I thought the preshot would be higher than it was....which is a great and welcome surprise.....

I wonder what he has in store for me tonight....

With his latest stint, I have learned to never say never, BUT it does look like the blip on the radar is over.....(antijinx to the nth degree!!)


I thought I was gonna have a chill night when his +2 wasn't really much different than his PMPS......I will be going for a +4.25, just to change it up a bit and see what he is up to......

I can dig on these numbers.....

He is getting a little testy, so I am gonna give him a break, set the alarm for a +6 and hopefully be able to sleep for about six hours!


About to give him his last fuds o' the night....hopefully he surfs these lower blues for awhile tonight....

I know that a fairly flat yellow typically means an active cycle to come, is the same true for blue? Not that this hasn't been an active cycle, but he has had a relatively slow and steady cycle thus far.....

Off for 6 hours of hopefully uninterrupted sleep....

He got a little extra wet tonight because there was a little left over and I didn't give him raw with each of his meals, so.....

tomorrow is another 5K........why do I keep doing this to myself?!?!?
