Yesterday, Simon mostly surfed in the 120's but hit the green last night before bed. This morning, he is his usual higher self in the AMPS, but who knows what the day has in store. Back to tbp today but hoping I can get home to check on Simon and Cleo at lunch. Simon is doing ok but seems to be sitting more in a corner and not interacting with me as much as usual. It makes me a little nervous but he is still eating well. Still scratching his ears some but he will be seeing the vet next week to talk about it.

Thinking of all those in Texas fighting the horrible fires and also everyone here in the South that had damage from the tornadoes and flash flooding yesterday.

Have day after Labor Day!

Beautiful blue form Simon and a toe tap into green. yay! I hope he starts to interact more for you. Poor guy. At least he is eating well.

There's nothing like intuition! I've never seen anyone here recommend taking your cats temp before, but that icky feeling often goes along with infection and it would be a piece of cake to i.d. early with temps. We do have sugar cats after all which means sugar in the bladder, which increases the risk for UTI's about 20 fold.

Just a thought if you're concerned about waiting until next week to see the vet (where we know they'll take his temp). Here's a great video on how to do it appropriately.

Hi guys .. glad to read that simon saw some greens last night .. I like how he is already back down there at +6 today .. hoping he comes out of his corner and interacts with you guys tonight .. maybe he is just sad you are back to tbp? Have a great day guys!

Simon is a little up from the nice green at lunch.

Jessica, thanks for the tip on checking his temperature and for the link to the video. I don't have a rectal thermometer here but will buy one tomorrow. My DH comes home from out of town tomorrow so I'll enlist his help in checking the temp. I'm not sure Simon will hold still for just me.

Devon, you might be right. Simon hates when his mommy is away from home!

I hope Simon is okay and perhaps just missing you. Every time I start getting ready, Maggie always has this worried look on her face. Good idea with the rectal thermometer. I also should buy one to have when needed. I had to laugh at your comment in my condo about Leo scarfing down the Wellness chicken after not liking it at an earlier time. I've had similar experiences with Maggie, too. They keep it as a challenge with the fuds.

I know Do Lou hates it when we are gone which is why I was soooooo worried to go out of town this past weekend it was the first time for me since he was dx in 2009 but he did very well with my DS but sometimes he just does not eat when I am gone so I understand your worry over Simon hoping he is ok and maybe just having a off day

Simon's numbers are doing pretty well!!! I completely understand how you feel when Simon starts acting like a loner. When I see Champ has found a new lonely corner in a closet to hide out in, it always makes me wonder since he always used to never leave my side. He followed me around like a puppy, even sleeping in a basket next to my desk while I worked. Hopefully, they'll bounce back to their normal friendly little kitty selves one day!! We can only hope!!

Hi guys! What nice numbers for Simon tonight - love that green! I hope Simon had a great day, and that he is more social tonight. Maybe it was just an off day for him.

I too feel for those in TX, and for all of you that dealt with the rains and the flooding, I hope all is well where you are.
