Wow, I guess the new dose is working! Let's see if we can maintain good numbers today. Rusty had a good night, good test this morning, shot was iffy (I didn't smell insulin, but the syringe didn't "pop" out and there was a wet spot on his fur--which may have been from my nose dripping?!), breakfast consumed in 2 sittings. I tried to interest him in playing and partially succeeded (Big Bug and a whiffle ball with bell); now he's napping on the couch. No contributions in the lb yet this morning and now that I know he has crystals, I worry about that.
The rain has stopped (we had 24 hours of rain, some of it heavy) and the sun is supposed to make an appearance this afternoon before the rain comes back. Tomorrow we're going down to camp to get ready for the 90 Miler, 3-day canoe race, which starts on Friday. We and another couple are pit-crewing again for a friend, but only on the first day of the race, which is the most difficult day. We will meet him at the carries (portages) with replenished water bottles, snacks, etc., then jump in the car to get to the next carry, etc. and finally wait at the beach in Blue Mountain Lake for him to finish (a bunch of our friends will be there, too, and we will have an impromptu beach party while watching the racers come in). The guy we are supporting is a canoe builder (Placid Boatworks; we have a couple of his canoes) and will be paddling his newest model. He's a really fast paddler and will finish near the top of his division, so we will be on the run to get to the portages in time to replenish his supplies.
Thank you everyone for your support yesterday. I was really worried about Rusty. I am doing a lot of reading on crystals so that I can converse with the vet on Monday.
Everyone have a good day. Healing vines and thoughts to all kitties who could use them.

Hey Kitties, I'm going down to Camp Stu tomorrow and hope that everyone will come to visit me there. We can hang out on the dock, fish, swim, and grill. See you tomorrow afternoon,
Rusty
