Luci was purring this morning on the testing towel...she visited at 3:30 a.m. with lots of purrs too. I think the cooler weather is making her seek out warm hands and loving pats...she's certainly more lovable than the old Luci :joyful: Such a transformation for a cat! I marvel in it every day. Love this nice blue beachy start too!

Happy Friday everyone. Here's hoping you all have a wonderful day!

Here's a pic of the Sandhill cranes that visit our yard every day - they're shy, but they stop by for some corn kernels...they're such beautiful birds - dad watches out and the family eats.

She started out with growls - way back when she thought we were trying to kill her...she has come a long way baby!:joyful::joyful:

That's a nice start to the day for pretty, purry Luci. We get the sand hill cranes coming through our area twice a year during their migration. A local town even has a crane festival.

I'm Jealous! I wish I lived in the middle of nowhere & had animals all around (instead of people!)

It has it pluses and minuses...the critters eat everything - flowers, shubbery, trees, veggies...they're pretty ruthless..

I planted a weeping cherry tree one year - the deer skinned it - every leaf, every ounce of bark...there was nothing left but a stick...no more ornamental trees! Tried growing corn a few years - as soon as it would ripen they'd eat the ends of every ear - then the raccoons would come finish the job by knocking the stalks down and eating what was left of the corn. The ground hog eats flowers right off our pool deck...nice that we have some creatures that don't try to eat everything...others...I could do without..oh well, guess they figure they should share in the bounty and I should plant more if I too want some :)

Tried growing corn a few years -

Years ago I had a BIG garden. I always planted "Extra" I didn't mind the animals coming to eat. Funny but there was always enough for me & my boys! And even the neighbors!

I put out bird food & nuts & seeds for the squirrels. I've never had any of my flowers eaten, but my neighbors are always complaining about the critters eating their flowers & plants?

Guess we don't plant enough to keep 'em full :( Here's what's left of the squash:
