Yesterday's Condo

Both kitties are voting for BTB time. I agree! It's overcast and a good morning for not hurrying to do anything.

This is the first time I've lived in a place where college sports is the news of the week. And I'm not kidding -- it's a week of having everything local talking about the first football game of the season. They are expecting 100,000 people for the game. At least it's a night game so I can get my errands taken care of unless people have already started tailgating.

(Question to self: how do you avoid the campus area when you live 5 min. away?)

Good luck getting your errands done....

When I was in college I never went to any of the games, but I do believe the tailgating starts early, depending on if the campus is dry or not ;-) ;-)

Skooter and I enjoyed some btb time ourselves this morning....

i hear ya - everyone here is into The Games too. We have one tonight at 7:30pm. Fortunately tonight's is an away game. If they are home games, I stay home within several hours before it starts. It drives me crazy because honestly, i couldn't care less. Just not a sports person, but they are all over the place here. I'm always amazed at what an enormous affair the games are - people tailgate all over, you can't drive anywhere near the campus (and we live perhaps 1.5 miles away), they drop a fortune between tickets, parking and food. It always reminds me of the Roman gladiators and how the spectators went crazy in the arenas. People don't really change, you know?!

perhaps it's an "enjoy staying home" sort of day. If you have to go out, go during the game!

I suspect the traffic was crazy all day. You'll be better off with day games, then you can run errands during the game and the streets will be empty. That's what we did in Lexington, KY. We would leave the house when the basketball game started, and no one would be out shopping.  Nice day for Gabby. :-D

 on the game day hoopla! At NYU the big sport is fencing.

Hope you got your shopping done.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

One of my colleagues mentioned that everyone here wears red on game days. (School colors are scarlet and gray.) She wasn't kidding. I had to go past campus and people were on their lawns, music blasting, and partying. The problem is figuring out which errands to run. Where I grocery shop is not far from where football parking is and, apparently, they close off streets which could make it difficult for me to get to the grocery store by my usual route.

Looks like Gabby has decided on a bit of a PJ party. Good thing she nadirs early.

My sister and her family lived in Columbus for about 20 years and he taught at OSU. I used to visit them all the time in the fall when I was young and single....so much fun there during football season :-D

Hope you got out and about around the crowds.
