Just for record keeping sake, I started giving Chase Lantus from a new pen. The vial I had been using had gotten almost to it's expiration date. Last night was his first dose. Because his reading was 124, and I was on the fence on whether or not the old Lantus might have lost some of it's potency, I shot just a tiny bit less that his normal 0.1u. (he has also done a couple of weird nose dives in recent days - 50's). He got the same dose this morning. I'd rather be safe than sorry and I can't get home at lunch, anymore, to do a +3. On Monday, Wed, and Fri I won't get home at lunch at all. So I will see how it goes this week. And then this weekend, I can see about doing a curve with going back to his full 0.1u.

Thank you all for helping through the process of getting new Lantus and treating Chase. I love you all.:bighug::bighug:

Have no idea how you measure such a small amount but Chase's chart looks real nice!
Thanks, Paul. I have a lighted magnifying glass. :) Of course, it's not as accurate, but I'm as precise with everything about Chase as I can be. ;) I'm happy with his chart. I'm coming to the conclusion that he may never go into remission again. But even so, he's got some pretty good numbers on a very low dose.

Hi Sandy and good call shooting a bit less with a new pen. Hope that the new pen gets him into lower SAFE numbers.
Thanks, Bobbie. I really appreciate that. It makes me feel really good. :) I'm hoping, more, that he flattens out, some. It really confuses me when he's going along... everything pretty much the same... and then BAM... he throws me a 52. LOL.

Remember that a 52 is still a safe number and depending on where it is in the cycle, he could just surf and go up some from that point or a little steering with some food could be in order.
