9-6-20 Olive's BG 360 PMPS. Gave 0.01 IU @PM cycle. Hoping for a good night.

Sorry guys, I'm still trying to learn how to navigate around the site.
I just finished updating her SS. I was jotting notes as the drama unfolded so I'd know what did and didn't work if it happened again. All that info is there now.
Maybe it's the fatigue but I'm lost. When I posted the 911 was I supposed to add a link to today's original thread this morning? I'm not sure how this all goes. Did I need to delete my morning update thread once I posted the 911 thread?

It’s best to start one condo a day. Then update the title as needed. When two are going at the same time some of us miss what’s happening because so many are posting. I for one come on and off and don’t sit at a computer watching. Your title about being high would not get eyes on your condo. It’s misleading. It needed to be changed to Olive dropping quickly or similar with numbers. I saw you were in trouble with the 911. If you were regularly updating the title with bg numbers I would have seen sooner. It’s scary when this happens I know. Start letting everyone know earlier next time. Does this make sense?

The basic idea is to only have one open thread every day. This is a big forum. If you opened more than one thread, we'd lose track like Elise noted. You can update the subject line by making the change in your first post in the thread. (It's why you see a day's worth of numbers in many of the threads on the board.) You don't delete anything since it may be important to be able to go back to find some tidbit from a previous day -- and it's why we link the previous day to the current day since it makes it easier to backtrack.

One suggestion -- can you manually color code the cells on your spreadsheet? When you put in multiple numbers, the color coding isn't automatic. You have to do it yourself. Many of us look for trends based on the color coding.

Oh, okay. I get it. So all I'm doing is changing subject lines, not actually clicking on another "start thread" or whatever that button said. So as things change through the day I simply modify the subject line? Okay, unless you tell me I'm still off base I think I've had a lightbulb moment.
I'd love to. I tried to the other day, but I couldn't figure that out. I'll do some more digging until I find out how that works.

Okay, so that makes sense now too. I modify the original subject line and update with any major updates for the day or time, but it's still going to be the original thread I started that day. In the case of what happened with the 911, I didn't need to begin another thread, simply change the subject line to "Olive bottoming out." Correct? As to letting everyone know sooner, I couldn't get to the computer as hubby was asking me about her numbers, what I was doing, and needed help trying to locate an emergency vet as it seemed like that's where we were headed. I always try and get on here ASAP. It was chaotic here. I was going to ask Steve to jump on here and update you on her condition but I knew he wouldn't have clue. lol.
She's 173@+8 and doing well. I'm going to go spend a little time with hubby while things are going well with Olive.
Just figured it out. Is there a way to put multiple color blocking into the main block? I'll go in and fix the ones I can tomorrow.
Nope - just one color per cell. I always went with the color for the lower number.

What a day you've had, Robyn. You handled it well.
Okay, I'll go with the lowest then.
We're at +10 and she's bounced up to BG 304. I think all these carbs I've given to her since the low has elevated her quite a bit tonight. My guess is she'll be around the 500 point by the PMPS and will be reading "HI" by the time the insulin kicks in later. I've already prepared her shot and had Steve double check that it was done right, give or take a point on the caliper. The 0.02 looks identical to the 0.01 and we decided to go with the 0.02 because it kept bouncing from 0.01 to the 0.02 on the caliper at the slightest movement) and stuck it at the 0.02 mark to account for how it looks like she's getting NOTHING at 0.01 and our hope is that at 0.02 that it will give us a margin for error if too little is actually put into the syringe, make sense? Even with the caliper those micro doses look so similar to even the quarter unit. It scares me each and every time I have to give her a shot. Did I put too much in and create a near catastrophe like todays 0.25 IU? or if I don't put enough in then she goes off the charts and has a seizure? The vet kept harping on that danger and The stress of it all
is seriously getting to me. The last thing I want to do is be responsible for harming our little girl. I'm just sick of my syringes too! Can anyone suggest one that's at least mostly accurate to the stamped zero line and has the half unit marks too? I've simply got to get away from these Walgreens syringes. They are driving me mad!
If anyone has thoughts on going to the 0.02 IU I'd love to hear it. I've got 1 1/2 hours before I have to give the shot. My thoughts are that there IS so little difference that it won't make much difference either way, but I'd like someone else's thoughts on it too.I'm so happy to know I'm doing the right things on the outside, because on the inside I'm a nervous wreck!

I had the best syringes made that have since been discontinued. The lines were often crooked but at least no hub. So you and your hubby should get sleep tonight. Get a +2 or 3 and if high stop until morning. The high bg is both carbs and a bounce. You know it too shall pass.
I'll surely get those and then play it by ear. Do you think shooting a 0.02 is okay?
I promise...if she's in the black. I know I can't keep going like this, but it's the MOM in me.
