Hi Everyone,

We are zonked after a day in the heat, wind, and intense sun pit-crewing for our friend on the first day of the 90 Miler Canoe Classic. Only one apprehensive moment: his Camelbak broke and all the liquid leaked out. He handed it to me on one of the carries and I was able to repair it and get it back to him on the next carry. He did great on this first day and was the first solo paddler to finish (and only about nine 6-10 -man war canoes came in before he did. Tomorrow we aee expecting rain and cooler.

We are going home tomorrow to get ready for Linda BearMan's visit. She arrives on Sunday, maybe in time to see the conclusion of the 90 Miler. On Monday we are going to take her to a wilderness lake (Lake Lila) for the complete Adirondack canoeing experience. Looking forward to seeing her, as is Rusty.

Rusty saved his food today. It was unseasonably hot. Better appetite this evening. The moon is getting on towards the full moon and Rusty will come back to camp to host the LL Full Harvest Moon party in a few days. Tonight the moon is sparkling on the water.

All for now. Please forgive me for not being on the board much the last few days. Life is very busy!

Looks like a great day for both you and Rusty. Kudos to your friend for doing so well, in spite of the temporarily broken camelback.

I'm sure you are looking forward to Linda's visit. Sounds like fun times planned.

Wow, the beans had a hard day. Well done on the Camelbak repair! Your friend chose wisely for his pit crew. :-D Have a great visit with Linda! I'm sure Rusty will be the perfect host, as he always is. Nice cycle today, Rusty.

Wow, excellent pit crew, to repair that Camelback. My DH wouldn't be without his when we go to NASCAR races. I like it 'cause I can steal a drink of water from him from time to time without having to carry it around! ;-)

I hope you won't be too uncomfortable tomorrow, with rain coming. Good luck to your friend in the rest of the race.

I always get so excited for you when Linda comes to visit. You all are so lucky!!!
