My Favorite quote

“We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate for having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.”

Ravan still has diarrhea. Nothing has worked to stop it. I feel very discouraged & very worn out.

Good Sunday Morning JoyBee. Wishing a beautiful day for you and handsome Ravan. I hope Ravan's tummy improves. Have you ever tried the "RX Clay"? We used it for our IBD kitty. It seemed to help but I think it's prescription. :bighug::bighug:

Hi JoyBee! I just popped in and saw your post. Have you tried probiotics? Or slippery Elm Bark mixed with George’s Aloe Vera Juice. ( plain water will work too). Make a little ball and put in on the roof of his mouth right after he had diarrhea. It really helps. I mix 1/4 tsp of slippery elm with 1/2 tsp aloe Vera juice. If you don’t think you can get the ball on the roof of his mouth you can make a syrup and add some to his food or syringe it into his mouth.

Syrup: mix 3/4 of tsp is SEB in 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil. Immediately turn down to simmer for 2 minutes. It will get thick like a syrup. Add 1 tsp to his food or syringe into his mouth. Store the rest in a little container and keep refrigerated . I give it to Bubba twice a day everyday. It has kept him very regular, no constipation or diarrhea. He used to go back and forth between the two. I also give to my dog Ricky twice a day for collapsed esophagus syndrome. It helps his coughing.

Thanks Bobbie. Yes, I've been giving him Boulardi probiotics for weeks. It seemed to work at first but he still has diarrhea. He's also been getting slippery elm every day. He's had blood work & xrays ,everything came back good. Both my kitties eat the same food & sleep together. He has the diarrhea but not his sister Alice. Even the Vet doesn't have any advice. I've tried everything I can think of. My sister has sent some Fluvic Acid/Humic acid. I'm still waiting for it. I sure hope it helps him.

I hope you can figure it out. It’s so frustrating I’m sure. Wonder if he’s developing an allergy to one of his proteins? Any other symptoms like scratching his face and neck a lot? Or gunky ears? Both of which along with the diarrhea could be a symptom.
