Ahh, I'm overdue for an update! The latest with us is that his labs in July had phosphorus creeping up. I have him down to only one can of Fancy Feast a day and the rest Weruva. I'm happy about that and I hope it's enough to make a difference in his phosphorus. Some days he will clean up plates right when I set them down, other days he will "cache" them and leave food for an hour or two. I've chalked it up to maybe him just not liking the Weruva as much, but as long as he's getting all his calories that works for me.

Behaviorally he's doing great. He's been cuddling with me on the couch, on the floor, in the bed at night. Watching birds out of the screen window. I'm just so thankful he's still on honeymoon and feeling good.

The only weird thing is that for the last couple weeks I've noticed his purr was a little wetter than normal. He'd get worked up purring and have to swallow like there's some liquid in there. I started 1/2 tablet of Zyrtec to hopefully dry him out and I think it's helping.

Ok enough words. Pictures!

Have a great long weekend! - Tim

Hey Tim,

Great job balancing the foods! I know how picky they can be at that change, sounds like it’s a good idea for his kidneys.

Love calling the “walk up, sniff and inspect, walk away” cacheing food 😂

Hope yall have a restful September!

Sometimes I’ll follow him around with the plate and he’ll be like oh, I have a cache and eat the same food he didn’t want but in a new location  same you to and your fam! Thanks for checking on us!

Glad Pookey is doing well, Tim, so happy to see his update.
Sorry he’s being a bit picky with the food. It’s always a challenge.
But so happy he’s being his loving and cuddly self. What a good boy! 😺 🐈🥰
I hope the Zyrtec helps his symptoms.

At some point maybe a phosphorus binder could help if needed?
I hope he stays stable and continues to feel great. He’s such a sweet and beautiful boy.
You’re doing great job with your buddy 💖
Ps. I love his nose freckles 😻

Thank you Staci :bighug: yes about the phosphorus binder. My plan was to see at his next bloodwork. He is a great buddy. I'm so glad Ivy has been feeling better.
