Yesterday's Loose Lips

Happy Labor Day dancing_cat Hope everyone has a relaxing day like Leroy is :-D

Leroy's kind of lost interest in his box  although I did hear the box crash into walls last night and the paper bags crinkling.

instead of doing yoga, meditating or following our breath, we should sit at leroy's feet and take note of how he relaxes. cats have it down. masters of the universe of relaxing - ever seen a tense cat? unless, of course, they're about to pounce on something!

last night anya ws after a moth outside of the living room window. that required running back and forth from a sofa arm across the rug to a chair arm. lights by both of those that were attracting the moths outside. great summer evening entertainment!

I like the way you think Julia  Leroy always makes me smile.

I read an article on line about psychopaths among us so I decided to google something they mentioned. OMG I found a new addiction. DOCUMENTARIES!!!!!!!!! When I did read (when I could concentrate) I loved non fiction. Especially stories of courage and autobiographies. Now I can watch and pause as often as I want.

I've always been interested in how people think but can't really wrap my mind around it. I am just amazed at people who have an inherent ability to manipulate. I can't manipulate anything not even myself darnit. But some people have this as a sense like touch and smell. And no empathy. But the psychology documentaries will keep me busy and then on to other sections.

    OMMMMMMM.....Follow the feet......OMMMMM.....Yep...feelin more relaxed now.

On an interesting sidenote....Had a chance to see if my bike helmet really does work.....YUP....Thank goodness I can say it does. Was riding this morning and rode by a car just as the owner opened her car door. Can we say the word collision? It took off part of her door......I'm OK but the force of me hitting her door threw me on my back and head. Was a bit foggy after.....they walked me home which was right around the corner....Then I called my neighbor over to come sit w/me for a couple of hours...just to make sure.....she then helped me w/the hydrogen peroxide and bandages. The only thing that is sore is my left jaw...just the muscles....so my mouth got whiplash......So those of you who ride your bike please take note and wear a helmet. So I'm off to the bike store to get a new helmet.

OMG, Teena! I'm so glad you're okay!! I don't ride here in KC because, unfortunately, people here are either oblivious and/or downright hostile towards cyclists. We've had people intentionally run down on bikes!

Holy crap. So glad it wasn't worse - you are very lucky. And you know what - that lady has learned a valuable lesson and she will share with others. So your bad experience probably did mean some good happened. Your helmet worked - what a number on the helmet. That would have been quite the headache without it. I'm nervous of cars biking too. I bike in the country where there are some real creeps. I bike in the gravel than risk someone having a thrill at my expense. In our city it is a cars vs bikes vs cars mentality.

wow, so glad you are OK - and were wearing a helmet! my son had that exact thing happen to him and i would say we're a bike friendly town. he was in the bike lane on his way between a class at one high school and a class at the other one, and someone opened the car door into his hand. it broke the bones on the back of his hand and he ended up in a cast for a while. i'm SO glad you didn't end up with a concussion!

wahoo on bike helmets!

not sure if i can watch documentaries on psychopaths. let me know what you think of them! the reason i quit my job was because my boss was a sociopath - seriously. i went to a counselor to try to figure out how to cope with him and that's what she said, and i could see it. he was like jekyll & hyde - mr jovial santa claus to the congregation and evil to the staff. crazy.

omg! fiance is heading out to get in some cycling in just a few minutes so i'm going to show him this as a reminder. he's only had a few tumbles, one being pretty serious but it's a good reminder to not let him get complacent about being alert.

did you by chance get any insurance info from that person? just in case you need it?

I probably should have but I was in a bit of a fog. I remember bits and pieces of the incident, but there are some small holes. In fact, when I was walking home I couldn't picture in my mind my new apartment (moved there last October).....I could picture the one I was in for 9 years that was just across the pool from the new one....but when we turned the corner into my building I knew exactly where to go. Whew, that was eery.

So got the new bike helment. I did find out that all the helments have the same safety/crash feature. Cost difference is primarily do to the number of vents in the helment.

Scary :o I'm glad you were wearing your helmet and are ok :YMHUG:

Back to work tomorrow :? I hate short weeks because that means getting 5 days worth of stuff done in just 4, which I guess is doable but means that I'm running around frazzled @-)

Edit:

Julie posted a cute animated video called "Simon's Cat in 'The Box'" in Caturday's Loose Lips I just found that there's a whole web site about this cat :-D http://www.simonscat.com/ There are more videos there and comic strips, even game apps for iPhones
