I'm at 15U - and I'm told "The normal switch from Lantus to Lev is starting Lev at 70% of the Lantus dose." If I'm doing the math correctly...I should be starting out at 10.5U.

With a kitty stuck in high BG #s, I don't know how conservative you have to be with the 70% rule when going from Lantus to Lev. If you ordered from Marks, you will probably have to sign for the package so don't leave the house!

I did - my second order with them. I live on a boat in a marina - I've already given the office the heads up. The waiting - the waiting - the waiting!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I was thinking perhaps bumping it to 11U to keep it a round number.

11 or 12u would be fine I think but lets get confirmation from a more experienced person. I only dropped from 7.5u to 7u when I made the switch since Bronx #'s were stuck flat and high at that time.

In your other post you said:
I would like to start it asap. However because nadir seems to happen later I was thinking of moving up his shot time by 30min. Think it's ok to do that tonight? So PMPS would be at 4:30.
It's OK to move shot time up by 30 minutes, one time per day. We like to stick to one post a day, just change the subject heading if you have a new question.

Glad the Lev arrived! I think 11U should be OK, as long as you can monitor closely the first couple of cycles. Jimmy has been seeing some blue at this dose, so he's not exactly stuck in high numbers. If after 6 cycles the dose isn't doing it for you, you can increase by 1 U amounts.

Ok good to know about the single post. Makes sense.

He really only saw 199 one time...the first cycle at 15U. The others were R assisted or effected. Glad I didn't give R this afternoon he seems to be hovering at 300.

I'm gonna push up to 4:30 shot time today...man, 4:30 tomorrow am is going to come up fast. :coffee:o_O

The night of the 3rd looked pretty blue to me.

I'll think of you tomorrow morning when my alarm goes off at 4:35 AM. :arghh: If you are shooting Lev for the first time tomorrow morning, you can probably get a nap in after shot time. Onset isn't typically until +4, though Neko preferred +5 and I have seen some at +3.

I was actually thinking of starting it tonight at 4:30 (usual shot time is 5-5:15). Think that's still OK?

Yes, tonight is OK. But maybe still get a nap in. The Lantus depot will be depleting and the Lev one building, so it's hard to say what sort of action you'll see tonight. Neko saw more action in the second Lev cycle. ECID.

Forgot to add, so cool you and Jimmy live on a boat.
Yea. It's pretty wild. He's really good actually - we're a good sized power boat so not a lot of rocking rolling. The previous owners had a cat they cruised with for seven years so everything is cat safety friendly...ie all the doors have screens or cat doors...they have full access everywhere on deck and below while still safe behind screens to allow for breezes and room to roam. He was around 5-6 when we moved aboard and adapted fairly quickly. He's me gato Del Mar.

That is so cool

Is it still a +2, if considerably lower may indicate an active cycle? Or does that get pushed back to say +3? Just want to be able to test him at ideal times.
Unfortunately, that's one of those things you have to earn about Jimmy on Lev. +2 never worked for me on Lantus cause Neko onset late on Lantus too. I found that if Neko on Lev was the same or not up much before onset (which was after I went to bed), then I needed to set alarms. For me, knowing if she was on her way up at preshot time gave a lot of information about when the first test after preshot would be.
