Yesterday's Condo

I believe that last night I stole the Helicopter Mom of the Year award from Amy. Now that I look back at it, I wonder what I was thinking. So tell me, how many of you would have taken that +6.5 93 and called it good? Was I insane to keep testing? I've never had him surf high greens for so long before, and I really didn't know what to do. I didn't feel like he was clearly rising, but he wasn't dropping like a rock, either. Maybe it's just been so long since I've seen a really healthy cycle that I couldn't recognize it? I think Sienne thought I'd lost my marbles for asking her, at 3:30 am my time, if I could go to bed! :? So give it to me straight - I can take it. Am I nuts?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Cinco is doing another flat high blue cycle. We saw where that led yesterday. And the day before. So I guess I need to know when to back off and let him surf, before this happens again (and I'm perfectly happy to see it happen again - I just want to know what to do!).

Otherwise, no drama around here (anti-jinx). Harvey is still just fine - maybe his teeth are a little whiter after his peroxide treatment  . Sasha is cuddly and loving and happy that I took her tank top off yesterday and she can hop around neked. Minka is napping with Daddybean. Mama is procrastinating on getting chores done. All's right with the world.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continued for Lyresa's DF, Amy's DF and Elise's DM. Cheering on Cairo on Day 11 of OTJ trial! :-D

Re: 9/5 Cinco AMPS 191 +4 175 +6 191

I don't know, Tricia...my Helicopter Shoes are pretty big ones to fill  - but I must say, you did a very good job of it last night!

I probably would have called it quits after the +6.5...99.9% of the time, Trix would flatten out after +2ish. BUT, ECID! If Cinco doesn't normally surf like that, continuing to test was absolutely the right decision. The only other thing I might have considered doing was spreading the tests out a bit more (maybe every 2 hours instead of every half hour) and grabbing a nap in between. On the other hand...last night gave you tons of great data and a lovely green line in Cinco's CC!

No drama is good. I'm SO glad Harvey is OK - how scary! I bet Sasha is thrilled to be shirtless, although she is just so stinking cute with her little wife-beaters on  !

Have a great afternoon, despite the chores!

Re: 9/5 Cinco AMPS 191 +4 175 +6 191

Those blues aren't bad after all the green last night. If you're not sure how Cinco's going to surf, it's better to be safe if you can stay awake. Like Amy said, you got some good data. Next time you won't have to stay up so late if you don't want too.

I'm glad Harvey is okay. I was really tired one day and got the cats' medicine mixed up and gave one cat the other cat's medicine. I called the vet and they said to give the peroxide to make her throw up. She never did throw up, but she did burp after I gave it to her. She was fine.

I bet Sasha is loving not having to wear anything.

Hey Cinco!...I've been out splashing around waiting for you! I'm getting webbed feet! ~ China

Guess he's going to stay on shore tonight, but it looks like you could use the rest after last night Tricia! I think I would have stopped testing after +7.5, but you know Cinco better than anyone

Hopefully these kitties will settle into some kind of pattern soon! At this point I don't care what kind of pattern...just SOME pattern!!

Re: 9/5 Cinco PMPS 234 +2 163

Hi Tricia!

I don't think you are crazy to have kept testing. Cinco (like Eddie) doesn't necessarily behave himself and surf safely once he hits greens, especially since Cinco has been aiming for the deep end lately, so I think I would probably have continued to poke, too. And then sometimes, even though I know Eddie's most likely safe, I just want to see how long the greens can stick around.

It looks like Cinco may be planning on keeping you on your toes again tonight after his lovely flat surf today. ;-)

Glad to read that Harvey is no worse for the wear after his excitement yesterday, and that Sasha is enjoying running around nekkid. :-D

Re: 9/5 Cinco PMPS 234 +2 163

I think you earned the right to be a helicopter mom. HOLY COW! Harvey!!!!

I'm glad things were better today. And I don't think you were nuts

Re: 9/5 Cinco PMPS 234 +2 163 +4 108

Thanks for your input, Amy, Carla, Chris, Jen and Marje.

Okay, so Jen and I are the testing queens, and Marje thinks I'm not nuts. The rest of you were very kind, too.

Cinco is currently standing on the beach, sniffing that lagoon air. Contemplating...will he take a dip? Or won't he? Only he knows - I sure don't! I do appreciate his slow start, though. Right after T/F/S we went to dinner with a friend at this wonderful little Italian restaurant about ten minutes from the house. We were home in plenty of time for the +2 check. Now DH is upstairs working (have I mentioned he's a workaholic?) and I'm catching up on the NASCAR programming I missed during the day today and playing games on Facebook.

China! I's coming! I's just a little slow. You has a head start on me tonight! Wait up! - Cinco

Chris, I think Cinco is developing a pattern - blue surfs during the day and slides to green at night. He's just taking his time getting there tonight. Guess I shouldn't complain about it, eh?

BTW, Chris, thanks for posting that Simon link on FB. I LOVE Simon's cat. So I watched it. Then I watched another. And another.....suddenly it was 45 minutes later! That little guy is addicting.

Carla, I've given my cats each other's plates before, and therefore the wrong supplements, but nothing that would hurt them. I did once give Harvey Minka's plate when I was putting her thyroid pill in her food. :o Luckily, I realized my mistake before he got to the pill. It probably wouldn't have hurt him, as she is on the lowest dose and his numbers are on the high side of normal (or is it the low side? Anyway, he's close to the line).

Amy, I did think of doing every hour. I guess I was still programmed from the night before when he dipped a lot lower. Next time I'll be a little less intense about it. I hope. I did actually want to see if he could surf fairly steadily in high greens, and he apparently can! :-D

I got a lot done in the yard today - weeds pulled, windfall apples cleaned up and roses deadheaded. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, but I have a feeling of accomplishment for once! Now for some adult beverage and relaxation!

Re: 9/5 Cinco PMPS 234 +2 163 +4 108 +6 83

As I said, I think we have a pattern. I'm not falling for it tonight, though. I'll test again before I go to bed, and unless he's dropping I'm going I-)
