Meet Molly Doodle 🐶

I haven't had her for long. I found her on Petfinder. Molly is a 6 year old standard Goldendoodle with wavy cream fur. All I know from the rescue is that she was with one family her entire life before they had to give her up. She's house trained, loves walks and is very well behaved. Her only sticking issue is her separation anxiety which means I can't leave her at home to go to work. She barks and howls for hours, waking up neighbors at 6am🙉. I've already been informed by management of a complaint 😬 Betting it's the same :ted:person who complains when I do laundry on weekends and takes up a guest parking spot instead of their own assigned spot. I either take Molly to work with me or take her down the street to daycare. She's getting better, though. She lets me go to the grocery store now without 📣🔊 as soon as I leave. I have a calming thing that attaches to her collar and calming chews too. @Tim & Pookey if you noticed a bump in FDMB donations from Chewy recently, you can thank Molly for that 💵😁

She already has minor health issues  She has hot spots on her elbows and hocks and a yeast infection in her ears. I pointed the hot spots out to the vet and said I was worried that them becoming the same issue Leroy had🫣 The vet said he had never met a cat like Leroy before 🤣 Leroy was one of a kind and special 😂 Molly has a recheck of her ears and hot spots next week and I think she might have picked up kennel cough from daycare.

What does civvie think of her new roommate?

No issues at all between the two 🥰 Leroy would have never accepted a dog roommate. He barely tolerated magic dog.

Civvie's kidney values are a little worse now. I posted on FKMB. No treatment needed right now.

Rats don't care about the dog. Molly is super interested in the rats (and squirrels and rabbits)🫣 She's tall enough to just poke her nose into the top half of the cage if the door is open. I have to be super careful when handling the rats.

Is there a Catinfo.org equivalent for dogs? I'm feeding Molly the same dry food as the rescue to avoid tummy issues from stress, Taste of the Wild. I haven't given any canned food yet but plan to include some. I can't do canned exclusively. A single 12 oz can is one meal for Molly 😲 I would like to do a raw diet but I can't afford it. There's only so much food in a commercial bag and Molly would need like 8 patties per meal 🫣 Magic dog ate Farmer's Dog, a subscription cooked food. That's also out of my budget. Vet has no opinion since he knows I'll feed what's best.

Any good dog forums out there? I joined one but quickly left. It was cliquey and I didn't get much advice or help. At least one person insinuated that I shouldn't have a dog if I didn't know anything about owning one. And someone somehow found out what state I live in (I have no info on my profile or account on location) and sent a creepy PM. I found better advice on Reddit but I'm not a fan of how Reddit works.

Hi Molly!! That’s so exciting for you and the crew! Sad that someone gave her up but she lucked out landing with you. Thanks as always for helping out with those links, I hope things settle in for the sake of your finances…

No recommendations on a dog forum. I’ve done a little prep work to eventually try to build some. When I looked into it it seemed like there were a lot of Facebook groups.

Molly is just adorable! She is one extremely lucky dog to have ended up with you, and I already know she’ll have the best possible life :). So glad Emma is getting along with Molly. Hopefully once Molly settles in and realizes that you’re not going anywhere and that you’ll always come back to her, she’ll start calming down.

Congratulations to you and beautiful Molly Doodle! We are so happy to meet her 💞
She’s one lucky pup to land in your home and care!!
So happy she and Emma are getting along beautifully.
Good luck getting her comfortable and with the medical issues. She’s in good hands with you.
Enjoy her and Sending many good wishes to Emma, too 💞🐈‍⬛🐶🐾💖

Molly is a cutie! But WTF is the matter with people? I'll ask my dog expert friend if there are any forums she recommends.

Molly looks so adorable and she got so lucky that you met her! I really like her fur collor. Hopefully all her minor health issues will be solved in a good and smooth way. Sending my best wishes to all the crew! 💞

Let's hope the civvie's kidneys "stay where they are", or get better. Have you heard about using NAC for their kidneys?

Molly says thanks for the welcome 🐶

She's definitely a people person. I took her to work every day last week since Tiger Mom was away 🤫. I had to leave her in the bigger office in order to go do work elsewhere. My office is too small and doesn't have a full glass door like the other one does. She gets upset when I leave her but settles down once people start showing up. I'm going to bring her next week just in case she does have kennel cough (contagious to other dogs in daycare) but put her in the lab support guy's office which is tucked away in a corner of his area. I'm afraid of Tiger Mom saying something 🫣 She never had a problem with the cat or puppy who occasionally show up but a dog every day might be too much (not that she would have to interact with the dog or anything) and you never know what kind of mood she's in (usually a bad one).

A day at work or daycare means Molly is 😴 once she has dinner. I haven't taken her to the dog park in awhile since she's exhausted.

Civvie has been taking Porus One for awhile now. The vet said fluids could be helpful but there's no way civvie would tolerate that. She doesn't like to be messed with like Leroy did. The most she will let me do is clip her claws and brush her teeth.

From my dog friend:
“I don’t…I really only use FB for rescue networking, but yes that’s the problem with any social platform is there are just so many judgy, negative, mean-spirited, not-helpful people. You’re welcome to give her my number. I’m happy to listen to what’s going on & make some recommendations.”
She’s the lead large-dog volunteer at our city shelter and has years of experience. She said she’d be happy to give advice if needed. 😻
