Trix's appy is OK today...not as gluttonous as she was yesterday, but not horrible, either. But, I will supplement with a syringe this morning, once I wake up a little more, since I do want to be sure she has enough calories. Yesterday, she ate enough that I felt plenty comfortable skipping syringes both morning and evening. Heck, today she's probably eating enough, too, but I just want to "be sure" .
I also skipped her "+3" follow up pokey test since she was already so close to the normal range....I didn't see a need for an extra poke.
I visited with my folks briefly last evening. My Dad is doing better, but is definitely understandably tired. This is really funny....right before he started the chemo, I tracked down a bunch of high-calorie smoothies for my Mom to make him to help keep is weight up during treatment. Many of these smoothies are tofu-based, she's making them for him, and he's loving them. But, she won't tell him what's in them because she's afraid he won't go for the tofu (and she's probably right - he's not a huge meat-eater, but he's never really understood my veganism, either). He's calling them "magic smoothies" because he's enjoying them so much but he doesn't know what's in them  !! Maybe we'll reveal the secret ingredient some day, but not just yet. He's hoping to get out and do a little something/shopping with my Mom, just to get moving. They're a little worried about being in public with his possible lowered immune system, but at the same time, he can't just be a recluse...I did remind them that many people do have to work and go about their lives during treatment. They should be fine as long as they avoid people who are obviously sick and frequently wash their hands. I think he needs to do "something", just so he can feel somewhat normal through this.
Time to get myself moving...have a great day, LL!
