+4 - 152
+6 - 122
pmps 365???
where the heck did that come from
he hasnt been himself i a day or 2....
dont know but his +2 tonight is 267
so he is cruzing down.
really not understanding this boy!
I guess one day at a time

I am just wondering if he could have gone very low for his +8....sonetimes his +8 is lower than +6..but still
I think I am fgoing to just stick with 3 units and see where that takes us...

hope all is well in PZI land and yes I voted today!
talk to you all later
Densie and shakes

It looks like maybe he possibly may have gone into the greens at +8 or after and his liver panicked?
Did you check that number more than once? Sometimes when I get a number that seems really weird or high, I double check in a minute and it can be considerably lower.
Sometimes it seems when I either get a smallish drop of blood or a very large drop is when I get weird wonky numbers even though meter shows no error.

Thanks Angela...I didnt even think of that, guess I should have
Friday night he hit the greens at +4 and I had to give a little EVO dry
and his amps was 305....so this 365 really threw me...
at least he is going down now..

It looks like from his ss that he gets these zooms every time he hits good numbers but then he recovers pretty fast so he may be getting used to the blues more and more.

You know I don't know much Denise but I was just reading about you giving him the dry on Friday night. Could that possibly be effecting his #'s? I've read that takes longer to get into their system I think? IDK, just a stab in the dark that I live in! They are frustrating aren't they?!

I was seriously considering adopting another sugar cat then I started thinking I must have lost my mind! He does need a home though....

I got wonky numbers when the blood drop seemed to be too big also. When I got a screwy number that made no sense, I tested again but used the other ear. If I got a lower result with that ear, I went with the lower number! Usually they were close, well within the 20% error margin of the meter.
There were a couple of "do-overs" where the numbers were far apart. In that case I ended up testing again in 15 minutes or so, and always got a number close to one of the others, so had to go by "majority rules".

I know that in a hypo situation, people are discouraged from feeding dry high carb to pull the numbers up because a) it is much slower to increase than karo or gravy-based wet food, and b) because it takes a lot longer to clear out of the system. So yeah, dry food probably keeps the number higher for longer. Not sure how much longer, but it should clear in a day I would guess.
LOL, I have thought about someday maybe getting another sugarkitty too. I'm just hoping my civie Mullet nevers gets diabetes, because he would be the ultimate in hard to test and treat cats. I'd lose fingers at least.

I hope my civvie Monkey never gets FD either; it would be a nightmare!
This cat KNOWS by esp or something when he has his yearly vet apt. down to the hour and hides the night before. I have had to cancel appointments for him at the last minute numerous times because he was no where to be found and later was found squeezed under the china hutch.
He also is wild at the vet, usually they put on falconer gloves and take him to a separate room and remove the top from the carrier to get him out. Last time they remarked he was a little better, only had to wrap him in the kitty straight jacket.
Don't know why he is like this, very lovable but shy, I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. My other cat, the youngest, is not cooperative either, I had to put eye ointment in his eye one time and he was very hard to catch and won't be still. Hes supposed to be very non confrontational, hes a Ragdoll, but he managed to rip open the vet tech's arm when he had him wrapped "burrito style" in a towel.
They always say how easy Henry is and I must say he is no trouble to give shots or medicine to.
