Good Morning!

Great news for Leo! We have an early vet appointment this morning for a checkup and then they will schedule a dental for him much sooner than the other clinic I spoke with last week.

I put out an SOS to my sisters yesterday and one of them referred me to the clinic where she takes her kitty, Guimauve and they specialize in dental procedures!

The clinic is about a half hour from us over the border in Quebec!

Have a great day everyone, stay safe!

That’s great!! Sisters are the best!!

Half an hour away is not bad at all, I hope everything goes well ... vetty vines for Leo :)

Awesome blue start for our boy as well

Just got home a few minutes ago. I had to leave Leo at the clinic :( so they could get a urine sample to culture. They confirmed that he does have a problem with one of his back teeth and we're tentatively scheduled for a dental on Sept. 10.

Awe bummer, but also amazing that you thought there was something wrong with his teeth ...you have awesome instincts! September 10 isn’t too far away, so it’s good you can get it looked at ASAP. I hope Leo pees quickly so you can get him back home :)

Aww thanks Amanda, he was a very empty kitty so it might take a while...they said we'll get him to drink, so I said ok good luck with that!

Glad you like the new vet. I hope by now that Leo has gone to the bathroom so that you can bring him home.
I hope the dental solves the BG issues and that Leo will have lower safe numbers. :bighug:

It's always great to find medical/vet care at a place that makes you feel confident from the start!

I hope it all goes well and he'll be perking up once he gets those teefies cleaned up :)

Leo’s back home safe and sound, eating and purring up a storm, I think he’s already forgotten about his tortuous day so we’re just going to pretend today didn’t happen…until my next visa bill comes in.

The doctor that’s going to do Leo’s procedure next week is a specialist in animal dentistry and he’s going to call in the next couple of days with the SDMA and culture results and I guess at that point we’ll be discussing the plan for Leo’s insulin the day before, the day of and the day after.

If anyone has any beforehand insight on this it, would be appreciated.

Thank you for all your support and vetty vines today!

Wishing you all a beautiful relaxing shark attack free evening!

That is great news that you will get Leo done on the 10th. Get some all meat baby food to feed him when he returns. It's easy to eat after a dental extraction/ extractions.

I hope that after healing and inflammation gone , that he will start earning reductions. :) ( I think he will)

Thanks Bobbie, Leo always listens to you! I'm going to get some over the weekend, good idea! How's everything going with you? Is your eye better? How's your mama doing? I hope Bubba's enjoying his outdoor freedom...winter's coming! :bighug:

Great news you'll be able to get the dental done so soon and with a specialist. If there are any extractions, you should get pain medicine and maybe an antibiotic before you bring Leo home. Some cats are bothered by the anesthesia and don't want to eat right away. You'll have to base the evening dose on whether Leo feels like eating or not.

Thank you very much for the reminder, Carla. It's a very comforting feeling knowing you've got our backs. :bighug:

Also the vet that checked Leo today said she was going discuss with the specialist Dr. who's doing the procedure, and come up with the schedule. Possibly bringing Leo on Monday, procedure Tuesday, and they also keep him Wednesday.
