Gracie's Yesterday

Good morning, LL! We wanted to thank EVERYONE again for all your prayers and wishes for our babies, especially Gracie and Gus. It means more than you will ever know. We are sending very strong prayers for Barb and Checkers today and any others who need them. We hope Lucy is doing better, too.
I'm going into work a little later today so i could help Mike watch Gracie through her first feedings. She had just a tiny hairball burp this morning and so I gave her cerenia because I did not want to be gone all day long and leave him with her vomiting and/or not eating. She perked up immensely last night after I think the drowsy effects of the cerenia wore off. She ate great last night and this morning. She's just quiet and sleepy because of the cerenia. I think her ick numbers are a bounce and probably also all the stress from yesterday. We'll give her a cycle and then decide what to do about the dose. I don't want her up here long but she needs a bit of time.
We did get the bloodwork back late yesterday. Gracie's values were all exquisitely normal. Her liver enzymes are the lowest they've been in 15 months and are gorgeous. All her blood chemistries and counts are perfect. Nothing to indicate any inflammation or infection anywhere.
Also, Gussie's kidney values are really good for where he is with his CKD. Last month, his renal values were at a two year low. This time, his creat had come down even a little more, his BUN was up just a tad (I didn't give him fluids yesterday due to his paw edema), his P, and his potassium holding nice and steady in normal numbers (P=4.4; K= 4.4) and his HCT had improved.
So Dr. B is convinced it is an intestinal issue that all three are dealing with. So Tobes is also on metronidazole. Gus is greatly improved this morning....eating like he did before this last weekend and he has really perked up alot.
My goal was to get to everyone's condo and thank you individually for your prayers but I was exhausted and had to get to bed to get some rest for work today. My apologies and I hope to get to visit you soon. Sending wishes to all of you for a great day.
