Happy Fursday. Happy Birthday to our beautiful GA Teddi Bear who would have been 19 today. We love and miss you so much, little T-Bear. It's hard to believe you've been gone almost three years. Have a wonderful birthday at the Bridge with Gussie and all the LL GA kitties and civvies!
Many healing/eating vines to all who need them: Zener, JD, Trix, Sasha, Neko, Billie, Amy's Dad, and Elise's Mom and please forgive me if I've forgotten anyone.
LBG has been her usual funny, silly, sassy self this morning. She and Tobey have been stuck together like glue. I think that might be a little more on his part than hers because he adores her but she seems to really enjoy his company and proximity. They were wild little heathens last night at bedtime and did a bit of chase this morning. However, I was also playing with them so they tend to interact more with me than each other when mama bean is involved.
Yesterday's numbers were bizarro. We started a new pen and I often wonder if the old pen is getting toasty and numbers are wonky and you start a new pen, is it almost like New Dose Wonkiness? But also in the equation are that her meibomanitis seems to be acting up again and she spent most of yesterday squinty eyed. I did a warm compress early yesterday morning and Mike did it twice yesterday. I did it again this morning and her eyes are looking normal again. It seems to occur more in the late Aug/early Sept timeframe. She has to go see Dr. B today to get tested for an E supplement. The one we had her on had glycerin and raised her BG horribly. Dr. Matz (the IM specialist) would like her to be on some E supplementation and Dr. B has one but we need to be sure it is the right one. When Dr. B tested her for the liquid one with glycerin, Gracie's body was "so so" on it. Also, we want to test her for the polysporin with lidocaine that the wonderful Wendy (Neko) sent us. Since Gracie is allergic to neosporin now and didn't like the Dermacool, Wendy helped us out by sending the polysporin. I hope she tests well for it. The other thing I've been nailbite_smile nailbite_smile is she has definitely been drinking and peeing more. Both vets think I'm worrying over nothing because we've just had all her labs done and her kidney values were perfect as were her f/t T4 tests. The only other thing I can think of is the Merrick has salt in it and WN did not. Perhaps the salt is causing her to drink more? Dr. B said if that is it, it's a good thing because cats never drink enough water and this way, she's getting plenty of fluid to keep her kidneys flushed of any sugar when she's above renal threshold and to keep her bladder healthy. I think I won't rest easy until her labs are done again in a couple weeks and everything is normal. I'm such a helicopter mom but aren't we all?
Have a super day!!!

Tobes gets the food but Baby gets the BOX!!!
