Good afternoon LL. DH here. I thought Marje did a condo today and she thought I did one, so we are late posting again. Hope you are all doing well.

Marje and Gracie are on their way to the IM specialist for the ultrasound, so hopefully we will know how she is doing on the inside soon. On the outside she is her normal sweet little self, with no outward signs of p'titus. She has gotten back into this bounce every night and dive the next day thing, so we are thinking of taking her dose down when we get all the medical questions addressed. Don't want to change anything till we know what we are dealing with. As I said, she doesn't give any sign that she is in any discomfort at all, so we are happy about that. Will let you know what the Doc says when I hear something.

Marje saw the GI specialist today too. He said he saw no indication of anything scary, so we are very relieved, but he said she does have something significant going on. She has to do another CT scan tomorrow, because the barium didn't get everywhere it needed to be on the first one. Also this doctor said he doesn't trust the blood tests for Crohns or Ciliacs, so he wants her to get some other tests on Monday. Fingers crossed they can finally figure this out and Marje can get back to feeling good.

Hope you all are having a good day. Updates on Missy G to follow.

Thanks for the update Mike. Nice slide for Gracie. That is good to hear Gracie is doing so well on the outside and being her sweet self. Sending lots of good luck vines for Gracie on the u/s and hope it's nothing serious. Marje's doctor sounds very thorough with wanting more tests, very impressive even if it means more tests! Lots of healing vines and prayers for both Marje and Gracie's u/s today.

Such a sweet kitty, bouncing at night so the beans can get some sleep! ;-) I hope all went well today and Marje finds out what is going on soon.

Thank you all for popping in!

So ....Missy G update: she does not have pancreatitis and the specialist (who is IM but then further specializes in GI) said he does not know why her specfPL was high. He said all of her internal organs (and he looked at every one of her abdominal organs) looked "beautiful". He said the only thing he could see was her bile duct is dilated. Bile ducts get dilated for two reasons: (1) obstruction or (2) infection. He said her gallbladder is of normal size with no indication of stones (and cats rarely get them) and so he believes it is infection or cholangitis. He was glad she was put on the A/B last week and she is to continue that for three more weeks; I also had started Denamarin and he was happy about that; he added ursodiol to the mix. She has to have her blood rechecked in one week and then he will redo the U/S to see how the bile duct looks in three weeks. I really like him a lot.....he's very thorough and easy to talk to.

I felt so sorry for her....she was scared to death and just shaking. I told Mike I think she shook her BG up because she was having a lovely cycle before all of the stuff at the clinic inc shaving her beautiful red fur belly    I got some adorable pics of her on the ride home which I'll post this weekend. She was very happy to get home and settle back into Gracieland.

I'm not going to be on tonight.....I didn't sleep well last night and today was so busy.....GI doc for me, eye doc for me (almost out of contacts!), and then Gracie's appt. I have to be up and out by 7:15 tomorrow for the ct scan enterography. And I have to fast        Oh well.....the only thing less than liquid is nothing   Doc said he thinks I have an acute infection going on along with a chronic problem....possibly Crohn's or ulcerative colitis thus the endoscopy next week and then I hope that will be it and let the healing begin!!!!! I had a great day yesterday and felt pretty decent, altho just tired, today. I am planning on working tomorrow after the ct scan so.....

Have a great evening and I'll be back on Thursday....Mike will post tomorrow.

Aw. I can just see Gracie quivering. I know she was glad to leave and go home. I hope the new meds do the job.

think it's funny you have to fast. That's just about all you've been doing, huh? @-)
But hopefully as soon as they through these tests you can eat again.
Prayers for feeling better and real answers with real solutions.

Hi Marje, Mike, Gracie, Tobey, Gus,

We are relieved to hear that Gracie doesn't have pancreatitis and hope that all will be well with her on the inside starting right now! Healing vines for Gracie, and for Marge--super healing vines. Get a good night's sleep so that you can tackle your day tomorrow. We are always thinking good thoughts and sending them your way. Also sending you a virtual dinner. Soon you'll be able to have a real dinner!!

Many :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: s to you all.

Ella & Rusty

Special note to Tobey: you're doing a good job helping out your papabean and watching over your mamabean and Gracie. I am so proud of you!

Glad that there is nothing serious and Gracie is still her good old self!
Healing vines to you two & wish you two get better soon.

Hi Marje,

I'm glad Gracie is ok and hope you are. I'm really hoping you don't hae Chrones. My two nephews have it and it's no fun. I hope it's a bad infection that will go away. Good night

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci

So happy to hear that Gracie did well at the doctor's (but not the BG part!) and that you like the doctor - that is so important! I hope you have/had a good night's sleep Marje and all of you have a great Wednesday.
Lisa

Great news on Gracie! I hope the ABs do the trick. Sounds like you have a great vet.

Hugs to you Marje! I hope the scan shows something. DH has Crohn's. It is kind of a buggar to get under control, but they have wonderful meds out there now. Thinking of you today and watching for an update! ((((Marje))))

Great news on the Gracie front. I'm sorry you're tests aren't going to be as easy. Let Gracie know we all want you to kiss her belly for us!

So glad to hear the good news on Gracie. Oh sorry, Gracie with the belly, gentle tummy massages from us. Good luck, Marje, and sending many good vines for your tests and for the doctor to get a diagnosis. Those tests sound hard. Lots of hugs.

Hi guys, I'm so late in catching up with everything that has been going on in your household! I'm so happy to hear that gracies organs looked "beautiful" and I hope when she goes back in for a recheck in a few weeks her bile duct looks puurfect!

I'm also sorry to hear you have not been feeling well either marje, and I am sorry for that .. Not sure what exactly is going on, sounds like tummy problems? My SIL had some severe stomach problems about a year back .. she thought it was the flu and when it didn't go away she went to the dr's and he did a bunch of tests on her as well .. scopes and scans, the works .. ended up being a bacterial infection, something starting with a "D" that was determined by a simple blood test! Also, it can be spread in the family as well .. my brother had the same symptoms and he was diagnosed with it as well .. But her dr told her once she has had it, it can re occur at any time too ... Anyways, not sure if that has anything to do with what you are dealing with, but thought it might help?

Thank you all for your visit, well wishes, caring thoughts, and also sharing your info about loved ones.

Devon...doc didn't say what kind of infection but it isn't C. diff so that's good. I'm glad your SIL is better.

Glad Gracie does not have pancreatitis, now that she is back home and calmed down hope her numbers will also go back down.
Marje, Hope your test helps you get a diagnosis that is something not serious and you can get on with healing. Healing vines for both of you.
