@carfurby @MrWorfMen's Mom @Justin & Sebastian ....take a pokie break ??? Til when ??? Good news is when he was high like this before coming back to FDMB all he would do is walk and lay prone, walk and lay prone ...his behavior is pretty good now ...also negative ketones ...yard dance :woot:

Yeah so I'd say it's extremely likely he went blue last night and is bouncing now. Bit of a bummer to see it bounce so high but at least his behavior is good. I'd say you've got a bit of breathing room here, probably don't need to check up on him again until +9 or +10
 
I think you can both take a pokie break at least till +7. It looks to me like he may be reaching nadir around +7/8...at least he seemed to a couple of days back so maybe that will catch his low today.

I see Justin is suggesting +9. That's fine too. Maybe split the difference and go for +8? :smuggrin:

Hey Beth! Looks like you gave Elmo a reduction on the PM cycle of 8/31 , but he didn't earn it and I think he is running higher because he did hit the greens and is bouncing and he got an unearned reduction. I would take him back up tonight if you can monitor.

Yeah, I'm not super surprised. He's getting better about the bounces but still a little early for them to stop completely. No ketones is always good though. Definitely get that +2 and +4 tonight though, I won't be surprised if he starts dropping soon.

@Beth 73 , you test enough to do TR and get him into better numbers faster. As long as there isn't any dry food in the mix, I would considering switching. He just made it into the greens and then the reduction as per SLGS.

I'll read thru TR tonight Bobbie ...I'm just wanting to go as slow and gently as possible with less risk of hypo... don't want to put his ole body thru that ...but going thru these highs stinks too... I'll reread TR tonight
 
Beth, I used to be scared stiff of TR with my 1st kitty. When Ollie arrived and her glucoses were not budging I started TR. There was just no chance of hypo with her for quite sometime. It was the best thing for her. Didn't know about acro at the time. She was just miserable and sick.

Your increasing after 6 cycles, once he gets into better numbers you can go back to SLGS if you want. Ollie seems to have changed her pattern so now it's increasing after 5 days.

. Thanks, Paula :bighug: I like your thinking ab doing TR and always being able to go back to SLGS ... that rings well with me ...it's just been a gut kick to have him on insulin after over 2 years remission and being 19 ...just want to make this as easy and gentle as possible ...:cat:

If you switch to TR, you'd increase the dose to 1.25 units. However, you may want to wait until tomorrow morning to increase in case he starts clearing the bounce tonight. If you increase the same time he clears the bounce he could zoom down. If you want to get some sleep, I'd wait until the morning.

Carla, you read my heart /mind !! :bighug: That's exactly what I was thinking :bighug: I've had a long day counseling with my adult niece in Texas...her abusive ex is now bullying her kids and she is afraid . Need to get some rest and hit thus change in the morning....see what the morning brings ....
