this MIGHT be nadir -- or close to it -- I'm choosing to see this as green ... +5 = 101

hey Lord
I got your green alligators
and long necked geese
some humpy backed camels and some chimpanzees

some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
I just don't see no unicorn

(long time ago when the earth was green there were more kinds of animals than you've never seen)

right now he IS sweet and soft and lovable -- he's asleep on his fleece quilt pad

soft, yes always --

it's roughly +8 now, he may dip later, I suppose, I hate to wake him up when he is so relaxed .. plus it's getting warm up here, sleep is a Good Thing

swarm of wasps collecting on one of the skylights, they may be getting ready to find a better place now that the nights are getting quite cool -- find a good overwintering place for the queen to hide out

so many songs -- so little time -- sent to bed at 7:30 but could play the radio until 10 .. AM only, of course, I didn't get an FM radio til college

often I coaxed my cat Tippy to the roof of the shed, brought him in through the adjoining window, he purred me to sleep -- my mother hated that, she was a firm believer in "wind the clock and put the cat out"

I never really thought about that experience of a radio—technological upgrades to FM from AM. Showing my age here. Lol. I remember my first CD player though. :p
-“Put the cat out!” As if! That would have made me sad. I always wanted an inside animal when I was a kid so one would sleep in my bed with me. :)

since my parents were born at the turn of the 20th century, I grew up with big band music, and light classical, as well as the popular songs from the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s; even some of the 70s as I drove an hour or so back and forth to work, and played 78s and LPs when I finally could afford my own record player in college; luckily my roommate liked music too, freshman year -- sophomore year I switched colleges, joined sorority, most of the music then was tied to that .. same old songs, new lyrics; then there were years home with two little kids who loved music, Sesame Street, and Wunda Wunda

Huge smiles and I share the love of the olden "antique" days!! Funny, antique at the stores just mean 50 years old:):) I have several "old" cat statues!
I have some ceramic (..or????) cat statues that were my grandmother’s. Some of my favorite things in the world. I grew up looking at them. Getting to know them, as it were. :)

So, Candy, there was a victrola we had when I was a child, I almost thought I found the model of it, but I guess I was a bit off. It’s on my antique wishlist. It wound up. I loved the feel of it. Nothing is made the same anymore and everything is made to be trash so fast. It’s sad. Did we ever chat about me working setting up estate sales? Of the lovely sturdy things I came across! :) sorry I am off sugar kitty topic.
