LT is bringing it on down after his latest contraband. We are continuing with the 1 drop and hope to see better numbers tonight. In the meantime, Tucker, the diabetic dog has had high numbers his last two fastings, so off to the vet we go to see if there's an infection going on somewhere.

It's a new week that holds new things for us all. May it be a good one.

Suzanne, all my best wishes and prayers for Tucker. LT will be off to a beach party, with a waiting lagoon . . . so I hope you don't worry about him while tending to Tucker.
May we all make this a good week. The best possible, anyway:) Enjoy nature!

Good morning, Suzanne :bighug: Sending prayers for LT to behave and come on down and for dear Drooler Tucker be well. Elmo is sending some of his low sensitivity to carbs to his bro, LT. Happy for a new day !

Nice work getting that nasty kibble out of your system LT. Suzanne, what is LT’s feeding schedule? With kitties that are on very small doses, and close to “you know what”, it can be helpful to give a small meal around +8 or +9, to try to bring down the preshots and get him some more green time. The idea is that the meal gets the sputtering pancreas firing.

Pawsitive vines for Tucker’s vetty visit.

Ditto, more pawsitive vines.
Wendy - +8 or (+9) works well during the day for a lower PMPS. If this could be done during the night cycle, it might be a great way to lower AMPS. Thank you!

LT is looking good today :) After a contraband episode he worked that out pretty quickly! Sending vetty vines for Tucker! I hope it all goes well at the vet today :)

Thanks for your well wishes for Tucker - he's 15 years old, diabetic almost 3 years and is blind from diabetic cataracts. So how much food would I feed him at a +8+9 mini-meal? Would it be in addition to his meals, or would I just subtract the amount from his next meal? I realize it's wee hours in the a.m. in Australia @Wendy&Neko , so I'll look for your answer quite a bit later from now:).

I almost had a fainting spell when he was over 300 last night:(. But somehow, he is back on track today. I've read about the depot, but when it comes to its workings, I get totally lost e.g. why it depletes itself. So, I don't know if the depot will do something funky in the next cycle. Thanks for the vetty vines for Tucker.

I know all about fat fingers on my iPad.

Try a couple tsps. Subtract it from his other meals, unless you want him to gain weight.
Ok, I'll try to start today if I get back from Tucker's vetty appointment in time. Thanks a lot for all of the help you've given us. It means a lot when people take time out of their own lives to help other:bighug:.

So Tucker's vetty appointment wasn't very good. He has a class 3 heart murmur from the mitral valve and a bit of fluid in his lungs. His heart is already slightly enlarged with an enlargement of the left atrium. The vet spent a long time going over the x-ray and management of the condition from here on out. I am saddened but I suppose not surprised because in just the last couple of weeks Tucker had developed a sporadic funny little cough which I've heard of being present in the onset of heart issues. His electrolytes were a bit wacky, probably from the heart issue, and his BUN has increased since April 2019 and his creatinine is high normal with a normal phosphorus. The CBC was normal. So he's now on Vetmedin and a very short declining dose of Lasix. It's too much...….

@Wendy&Neko, we got home too late to start the +8/+9 snacky for LT, but should be able to start it tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to need a good night's sleep in order to cope with my dog's declining health, or I might have considered starting it during the PM cycle.

:bighug: Suzanne. And healing light to Tucker, poor little dear. I hope you can rest well tonight, you know that you are doing everything you can to ease Tucker and take good care of both puppy and kitty.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Vetmedin did wonders for Neko when she got to that stage. I hope it also works to bring Tucker some better QOL.

If you had an autofeeder, you could try it for the PM cycle snack. Otherwise, tomorrow's another day.:bighug:

Had to make a running trip to the ladies' room and remembered while sitting on the throne that I left my already eaten bowl of ice cream next to my chair - of course I knew what would happen - and it did - LT was licking the inside. So 2 days in a row he has thieved. I had just finished the bowl, when I had to zoom down the hall - just didn't think. I'm too tired to deal with this....

Oh good grief, Suzanne :woot:........this sounds like what goes on around here! Reminds me of when our son was a toddler and into everything AND was a climber ....I was real judgemental of parents whose kids climbed until we had Matt ....that shut me up very quickly ....would find him on top of the frig ...there was no rest for the weary back then.....it will all work out and LT got a treat, the little bugger

I think I'm emotionally tired from the news about Tucker, along with the fact that even though I didn't get up last night with LT, I still was wide awake at 1:30 a.m. and then awake at 6:30 a.m. I'm pretty sure there was less than a tsp. coating the small bowl and that he probably licked up about 1/2, but still... and he's not even showing any remorse :arghh::banghead::facepalm:.

I'm going to check his sugar at 2.5 - not even sure it's necessary, but I then should be able to go to bed.
Prayers for a sound night's sleep :bighug: Today needs to be over with ❤️ Tucker may surprise you all..my bet is on his love for you and DH to prove the vet wrong .❤️

I made a fresh peach pie to go with that ice cream.

I hope the meds help Tucker. He sounds like a sweetheart, and is much loved.

We've been blessed to be his humans for over 15 years and we hope we are allowed a bit more time. Beth, I wish you lived near by - we could have coffee and share tales of family and pets. I hope that you too get a sound night's sleep.

Thanks so much - peach is my favorite pie. I wish all of you could come to my home so I could meet all of the wonderful people who have been walking and standing by our sides on this journey. See all of you in the a.m.
