Looks like Henry is running a little high...
So frustrating trying to figure these boys out!
 
Yes I can't figure it out and I raised his dosage just a hair this morning, still wondering about insulin poop out and this morning I dropped the insulin bottle, thank goodness it didn't break, but I hope that didn't jar it too much there is still between 1/4 and 1/3 remaining.

I dropped the first vial I had and it seemed to not work that well after dropping,
funny cause I have left them out in high heat and that did not affect it!
 
I've dropped mine twice. Don't know if it was affected.because we've yet to figure Cass out.

Hold the vial up to a light and check if you see any little crystals in it. That can happen if you shake the vial too. Vet told me it can mess up the insulin and could clog the needle as well.

While I wish I had some solutions for the allergy issue, I am wondering if that is the key for Henry. I know we have also suggested insulin switches, but if it is allergies, you could have the same problem.

Have you considered (or would Henry be willing) an elimination diet? Start with his favorite or one with which you have seen better numbers - maybe a chicken flavor rather than beef which can sometimes be an issue - and give it exclusively for 5-7 days. See if things are better or worse.

Carl, I don't see any crystals in the liquid floating, around the top edge I see some like its dried but its been like that, I think that is where the bottle has been used down and is just residue. The bottle is between 1/4 and 1/3 full.
Sue, I suspect it could be beef, He vomited last Sunday after eating beef FF, and he acts like he doesn't like it anymore, I think he has had a can or 2 since then, but when I bought more FF a few days ago I bought the single cans instead of the classics box and only bought, chicken, turkey & giblets and salmon flavors. So I'll try that.
I notice you have to be careful with some of the Friskies, he normally doesn't eat that unless I am out of FF but even some of the other flavors besides beef have beef by-products. Other than that, he occasionally eats Wellness chicken or Merrick's Grammy's pot pie.
 
I almost bought a box of FF classics tonight at Food Lion.
They raised the price of the single cans to .60 each, so 24 cans was $14.40, and I got 2 cans each of 12 different flavors. I thought "damn, that's a lot of money". So I looked at the shelf with boxes of 24 cans. What I didn't like was it was either 3 different meat flavors, or 3 different seafood flavors, which limits the menu. SO I thought, well that is the price you pay for the convenience of having all the cans in one nice box. Then I looked at the price..... $15.49????? WTF is up with that? They sucker you into buying the case thinking "well buying bulk has got to be cheaper, right?"
I left wondering how many people don't even bother to do the math and walk away thinking that they got a good bargain. I decided that 24 cans in a bag beat 24 in a box any day.

Now if they would only market beer that way.....I'd carry the individual bottles if I could save money doing it!

I figured that out about the boxes too; at Food Lion they are 15.49 and at Winn-Dixie 15.99.
At Kmart the boxes are 13.99 per box and if you are a kmart rewards member and use your card and buy a box, a coupon will print out for 2.50 off any pet product purchase, so if I go there the box is 2.00 cheaper, I use the 2.50 store coupon then also use a 1.00 on 24 cans manufacturer coupon so a box ends up being 10.50.
But, as you said for classic flavors your'e limited to 3 flavors, turkey&giblets, beef and chicken in the box or a classic box of all seafood flavors.
Since I think he might be allergic to beef, guess I'll go back to buying single cans. I try to look at ads each week to see where its on sale, its even went up to 60 cents a can at Dollar General recently.
 
If you can get a single chicken flavor, consider feeding him only that for a week. Yes, day and night, Henry. :twisted: See if his allergies (and numbers) improve. Worth a try?
 
yes, but I will probably not start for a few days depending on how many cans of chicken I have. I know I have turkey, chicken & liver, chicken, salmon and maybe a few whitefish. I'll have to look and see. Will need to stock up again in a few days.
Actually, he will be happy with that, chicken is his fav in cat food and human food. His mom is the one who thinks he needs variety so he won't get tired of same flavor :lol:
