Recap 9/3

252 AMPS
209 +2
113 +5.5
106 +7.5
150 +10
163 PMPS
207 +205
156 +4

Well, now that getting-close-to-red start to this morning wasn't what I was expecting. Bounce? I dunno.

Couldn't get a +8 last night (as was the plan). Set the alarm for 2:30 pm! Duh. Wonder if the Polly girl dropped too far, too fast last night. She's not telling.

We've worked our way up to an hour for the practice car rides. She mews but doesn't seem too upset. Sits up, looks around...and mews. Tonight we'll head south out of town toward the Grand Canyon's North Rim. Curious to see how she responds to elevation. We're at 5000 feet; try tonight to reach 8000. Again, maybe an hour and a half to two hours round trip to a little spot called Jacob's Lake. (Excellent pie at a little tourist stop there; I may need to get one to go.) This time I'll use my "calming" CD for music. Intended for the dog, but might help with the cat, too.

Vines and wishes.

Hi guys ... hmm .. whatcha doing way up there polly? Hope she doesn't have it in her mind the higher the elevation the higher the numbers she needs! ohmygod_smile I hope you get some of that yummy pie .. have a great day!

Re: 9/3 Polly AMPS 393+2=287

Head on down Polly, but slowly please. That's quite the rush this morning. Some blues for later today?

I've lost track of the number of times I've accidentally done PM instead of AM on my alarm. Have fun on the tourist trip tonight. Maybe they have some catnip pie for Miss Polly? We took lots of music too, I have no idea whether it helped Neko, but it helped the beans get through the miles of endless nothing.

Nice slide for Polly today. I hope the trip today goes well for Polly. It's so easy to do that with the alarm clock.

Sounds like Polly is becoming quite the traveler- you are smart to take these practice road trips. Just reading your description sounds like fun too, I bet it is really scenic! I'm not sure when your road trip to CSU is, but I wanted to wish you the best of luck in your travels! That is easy to do with setting the alarm, been there, done that! ohmygod_smile

Polly worked her way down to a very nice PMPS! It sounds like the practice ride/travel desensitization is going very well for Polly...what a smart move from a very dedicated bean! Hopefully she'll enjoy sharing the CD with the dog, although that might be a lot to ask from a cat  ! Have a great evening, Marilyn!!

What a nice (and very welcomed) slide into yellow base, Polly! Now, tonight...can you slide into blue base?! :-D Congrats on the drive time increase. Shasta used to be a basket case...always meowing with piss and vinegar behind each vocalization. She hates when I talk on the phone. She hates when I sing with the radio...and let me tell you how desperate this singer is to sing on my long 8 hour drives to my parent's house! Nowadays, she mostly sleeps. Wishing you lots of luck on increasing the time and safe travels!!!

Mr. Greenie may be smiling. I'm not. Big, fast drop at +4. Little dipper skipped blue altogether.

Maybe that's what happened last night when I messed up my alarm setting. Could account for the high amps today.

I gave her the usual pre bed lc snack after the +4 test. I'm hoping she slows the drop and hangs out in numbers she's comfy with. Really don't want to get in a bouncing pattern now.

Stay close, Miss Polly. We got some more numbers to get tonight!

Okay, Polly. That's far enough. Pull over and chill for a while. Maybe you can holler at Cinco to come up and join you in the shallows. He's swimming in the deep end tonight.

So how did tonight's trip go? Is Polly getting more accustomed to the car ride? Cinco is absolutely beside himself every time I put him in the carrier. It doesn't matter if it's the 10 minute trip to the regular vet or the 45 minute drive to UCD. He cries and tries so hard to get out of the carrier. I wish he would figure out it doesn't do him any good and just lie down and nap! My other cats figure that out eventually, but not him!

I hope Polly surfs for you in lovely high greens all night!

Good to see she slowed down a little. With some acrokitties, their working pancreas can kick in if you give them food. Neko seems to be fine with LC and HC, but I had a bad experience with a higher LC that caused her to dive. Just something you have to experiment with.

Hoping you get to sleep tonight, marilyn. Just wanted to check in on you before I head to bed. Only a few more days before the big trip.

Re: 9/3 Polly AMPS 393+2=287 PMPS 201+2=204+4=93+5=80+5.5=95

Hey, Cinco. C'mon up! Just enough to surf sweetly in the safe greens.

Trip tonight was fine. Just a shade over an hour. She never relaxes, but doesn't try to break out of the cage! Just sits there looking through the openings and grates, mewing. I wish she'd nap! A friend loaned me a top loader which is nice. Polly can look out the front, the sides, and the top. She likes looking around.

I am wondering if the dives last night (in all probability) and tonight might be related to the driving. Odd coincidence. Other practice drives were only about 30-45 minutes, more midday. Last night, tonight. An hour and an hour plus. From pm+.5 to pm+1.5 or so. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Wendy, thanks for the heads up. Polly doesn't respond to lc when she's dropped. Neither time I've tried to manage with it. HC, brought her up tonight. Not so much way back when we tried it before.

Yes, Julie. We leave in two days. Please Polly, let's not do bouncy cycles on the road. Tomorrow's "let's go for a ride" will be more mid cycle; I want to see if that impacts numbers less dramatically.

I think that was smart to do practice drives. Are you making this trip all by yourself or is someone going with you? It sounds like by yourself. She might surprise you, I hope, and do better on the longer trip as she might sleep through it. I hope so for your sake.
