Well, I didn't see this one coming, but I hope it's just a hiccup. Maybe Johnny forgot something on the upper blue floor and just went back to get it?? Please tell me this isn't the end of the world and he can bring it down and continue on his way. nailbite_smile

Still eating just 2% carb. Acting fine. Did a bunch of jumping last night for the video camera, but I think exercise brings you down versus up. I dunno...

hmm hope it's just a hiccup as you said and things go back down.
Perhaps put advice in your subject line to get some experienced eyes on it.

yep it's a yucky number, but it's only one number. don't panic! kitties do this. he'll probably pull himself down.
use food as you would insulin... feed a little 0% and retest in 4 hours.

Is there any chance there was something Johnny ate that he shouldn't have. He could have been patrolling the floors or found a chip between the sofa cushions? (Those kitties can be very inquisitive when it comes to fuds.)

I added a thought to the end of my original post re: fishy FF.

Good thought, Sienne, but Johnny does not eat any people food, except he likes milk (hasn't had any since dx). He's just so not even tempted, I'd be surprised. Anything is possible though.

Wait, Brian just called to say maybe it was last night's dinner. It was FF Cod, Sole & Shrimp (2%). So it was 2%, but maybe it's the fish somehow. I'm 99% sure it's the first time he's had it during the trial. Before, he would have some odd numbers after eating the FF Fish & Shrimp Feast I think. Like high numbers that nose-dived with the insulin shot (Jill and Libby may remember that). He loooooves fish. I hope it's not out for good, but maybe just for the rest of the trial would be smart. Chopped Grill for breakfast. We'll get a +4 to see if he's coming down.

Sorry for the lack of updates today. Work was a zoo.

So, these are today's numbers. Impressive with the 135 at +135, but something seems to have angered Mr. P. Johnny threw up a little after breakfast, hairball with a little bit of food-colored liquid. He's acting fine, otherwise, and is excited about the windy day and the trees blowing like crazy. When Brian put the strip into the meter to take the +139, it beeped like usual. This sound is now akin to a dinner bell for the civvies, esp Fritz. He jumped, with great urgency, out of a nearby cardboard box house (where he had been otherwise undetected) and onto the counter, making Johnny and Brian jump. :lol: Don't wanna be late to the table!

PMBG coming up at 8 CT, unless you'd like a +11.5.

Libby, we fed after each test today. I updated the SS. Sorry, forgot to add that! He ate 2% Chopped Grill and Liver/Beef.

seems like he's working his way down slowly. Whew! I hope he can keep it up.

If he's still high-ish at bedtime, maybe a snack in the middle of the night would help? Don't kill me! :lol: The food is working for him so it might help bring him down some more.

We'll get a +147 and if it seems a late-late-night snack would be good, we'll do it! Thanks for planting the thought.

I meant to also add that we fed the 2% this a.m. before reading the 0% recommendation from Jill. He seems to do well at this level without seafood. So far during this trial, he's also spiked when given 0%, so I'm a little leary about it. It also was seafood, so I wonder if we're onto something. The only other 0% we have on tap is the EVO turkey/chicken and he turned his nose up at it the other day. We'll try it again sometime this weekend if we can shake the fear of 0%.

Quite a comeback, Johnny and Mr. P! I don't think we've seen numbers like this without insulin and to be 6 days out with the numbers he had today?? Crazy. Crazy nice. Happy Beans and Johnny's enjoying a nice snack. We were going to wait unti +4, but kitties were milling around. I said we'd better get a test in now if he's going to eat again. So glad we did! We were hoping for just green. Let me know if this is something to be worried about, because we're celebrating here. I love LL! Wondering if kitties can have allergies to shellfish now...
