Good Morning LL!
Working on only one ~O)

Tried the "water alarm" last night, but I don't recall waking up. So no tests last night :YMSIGH:

Jetson is now happily camped out under the a/c vent as it's already hot & humid this AM.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday! :-D

Re: 9/3 Jetson AMPS 189

I noticed from your SS that you're using a CVS meter. People have had a problems with the reliability of the CVS and Walgreen's store brand meters -- they are from the same company. They tend to be unreliable. This is a link to a Consumer Reports review on glucometers. Many people here like the Walmart, ReliOn brand. Both meter and strips are inexpensive. I use a Bayer Contour and purchase strips on-line.

Re: 9/3 Jetson AMPS 189

Hi there!

Was very busy - napping today! taking lessons from the furry ones.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and welcome.
Jetson's numbers were pretty flat today: amps 189, +3 158, +7 179, PMPS 175
BUT, after Sienne's note about the tester I'm not so sure. Thanks for the warning and the link - I couldn't remember which brand had been mentioned, so I took a chance at the pharm. What to do now? Keep testing with what I have until I can get something else?

I may still try the "water alarm" Julie suggested - big glass of water b4 bed - I was really zombied out last night.

A short history on the name - he was originally named Jet at the shelter, which I thought was a cool name so we kept it. But it doesn't roll off the tounge when you're shouting at him to stop shredding the couch  so we added "son" and it works  although he's really sweet and well behaved most of the time.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Just stopping by to say "Welcome" too! Jetson is very handsome, and I love the story behind his name - lol!

Good luck with the water alarm...I never thought of trying that one! Fortunately, I wake up well to a "traditional" alarm...I'm afraid a "water alarm" would wake me up endless times during the night!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys better. Have a great weekend!

Amy

What a great blue surf today for Jetson.    on the water alarm. Maybe you should try a big glass of diet coke...that really does it for me!! No sleep after that!

Glad you all got some naps in. Lots of good meters out there. I use a OT Ultra Mini....very reliable but strips aren't cheap. I got the meter free....also have a backup OT and a Contour

Hope Jet--SON keeps having these great numbers!

Do you have a cell phone? The alarms on this are reliable unless you REALLY have to get up and then murphy's law applies.

I love how he got his name LOL. Very cool. And now I know what a water alarm was. I was wracking my brain and could not come up with an explanation.

I drive to the USA to get the relion confirm and test strips. They have been awesome for us and crazy cheap compared to Canadian meters. And only need a tiny drop of blood.
