Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty is "enjoying" (?) his post-trip bounce and hopefully will begin his descent later today. We had a good night and a good morning routine. He especially enjoyed his lung treat and his schmooze. It was cold last night, but the high today will be near 70 and Rusty will have some quality outdoor time.
The beans may spend the afternoon getting the front steps ready for their annual staining. Gotta take advantage of good weather. "Jenny" (the new generator) had her 12-minute "exercise" period right on time (8:30) and sent us an e-mail telling us that she successfully completed her weekly task.

Thank you all for remembering Stu with us yesterday, the 3rd anniversary of his arrival at the Bridge. I have both of those photographs of Stu on my desk, also one of Rusty and one of Alice (our GA civvie, who we rescued from the streets in 1989 and who arrived at the Bridge in December of 2000).

They've started a smart grid test in a section of our town.... I'm not excited about socialized utilities......

Hi Ella. Happy that Rusty is starting his descent to lower numbers.

Hope you have a lot of sand paper on hand when you start prepping your steps for stain. Bet they're goning to look great when you finish. Pretty neat that your new generator (Jenny) sends you emails! :lol:

I enjoyed your condo from yesterday, remembering Stu, even if it took em a while to read it. I so love those photos. I remember the both. What fun, and such comfort today remembering what was. Mannie and Stu! What a pair the were.

AT least Rusty is still yellow, and managed to avoid "that other color". Enjoy your post trip bounce Rusty, as the lagoon needs its meister back.

How great to have sunny 70 weather! we are 53, with non-stop rains.... blech! I will think of your sunny skies instead. Good luck with your steps, hope the work goes well. And Rusty - you enjoy the time outdoors.

At least it is still a yellow number after the trip. Rusty will settle back down soon.

I loved the photos of Stu yesterday, but I think my favorite is of him sitting in his "weeds".

Hi again,
After Rusty's nice and slow slide down, I managed to give him a fur shot tonight (hopefully it was just a partial one). Edward smelled Lev., but I thought the shot went in. But then I smelled Lev. too. ohmygod_smile Oh well, on we go! Rusty had a restful day, napping the day away in his various venues (bed, cube, perch, basket, couch, porch chair). He grazed at his food all day (this is his preferred way to eat) and at present is waiting on the couch for us to come to watch TV ("Folye's War" tonight).

The beans worked all day outdoors: Edward treated the wood trim on his canoe with Watco oil and he also started in on the front steps. I washed and waxed my car to get it ready for the winter. We were both tired when we finished in the late afternoon. Tomorrow I'm going on hike with friends along Nun-da-go Ridge and it should be beautiful because the fall color is at peak. Edward is going to do some more sanding on the steps. Rusty will have a nice day with his papabean.
