getting 0.5U L twice daily

Getting excited to see more blues. I have to practice what I preached to my kids Patience is a virtue.

I'm thinking that the reduction isn't holding. If there's no big change this cycle, how about going back up to 0.75u tonight?

Sienne Powder is heading back down into blues flip_cat I can barely say it and I don't want to jinx it. I hope it lasts. This is with him having food down from am. He had eaten about 3/4. He's eating the rest now with 1/4 can FF lc added. Will test as soon as I can this pm. I'll try to get home early :-D

Hi Pat can you or someone else laptop_smiley tell me how to post the previous day's condo? I have been trying to get help from tech about my profile but haven't been able to figure it out yet so any help would be appreciated. Do I copy and paste the first subject line of the day or do I have to copy and paste from the address line for the page?

Powder stuck it out through this evening ! he's such a good boy cat_pet_icon. I didn't get to do any other tests after +4 but will get a some tonight. Hope it holds.

Hi Kathy,

it helps to have two windows opened, at least that's how I do it, but anyway..
- find your last condo
- copy the http address of that condo
- start a new condo, and paste the link into your text box and go from there.

if you hit "preview" you can see what your post will look like before hitting "submit" your link to previous condo should show up in blue

Thanks Ronnie I'll do it tomorrow. Power's FD has brought about many changes but one of the toughest for me has been trying to learn how to get around the site and post. I rarely have ever done this emailing was a challenge. Funny how when you have to you can learn. You're more patient then my son usually is :lol: He is truly a laptop_smiley but is in GA.

We have a forum here called The Recycle/Test Zone forum, I spend some time in there testing links and pics and stuff like that.

Check it out - might help you practice those kinds of things when you have free time:

He's coming down fast . 103 :mrgreen: Not afraid of greens just scared of 40's and below . Took 3 days to recover from this past weekend. I gave him 1 tsp of hc and a mini-meal. He only snacked at dinner so wanted him to eat more. Do you think that will be enough for now or should I have given him more? I didn't want him to get too much in carbs to elevate BG too much, just a little ;-) Guess I'll be keeping a close eye on him for awhile. I can't help myself I'm so excited. We need a bean smile that jumps for joy too

Well it happened down to 43. Gave him i/2 can (3.3) mixed in Tbsp of iams gravy Besides testing what else? ohmygod_smile

You did just fine. For future reference, feed less! About a teaspoon or so of food -- I usually give about that much of LC topped with gravy. You don't want to feed too much especially since it's early in the cycle and you may need to be feeding for a while to make sure Powder is surfing.

Test again in 15 - 20 min. after your last test.

(BTW, do you like the way the threat of a dosecrease brought Powder's numbers down today?)

Test again in 15 min if your guy likes to dive .... 30 min if you know he likes to surf (mine likes to surf)..... unfortunately, I don't recommend going to bed until you have two consecutive tests an hour apart that are still on the rise. With this higher carb stuff in his system, you might want to get 3 consecutive hours on the rise and into safe numbers. I know others will chime in here soon to help you out!

He's 40 @ +2.45. He ate about 1/2 but I think he got a good amount of the gravy. He's acting ok. Sienne we wanted him to pay attention but he took it way too seriously :lol: confused_cat He has to learn to chill a little ;-)

How is everything now update?? I myself test every 15-20 min when my cat goes low and like Sienne said only feed small amounts about 1T is what I use but I am sure everyone is diff on that since thats about right for my boy, if you feed to much they get full and sometimes do not want anymore even though we want them to have some to get those numbers going up looks like he is still dropping hopefully when you test again you will see that gravy kicking in

He is still low for this early in the cycle so I would give him about a tsp more of gravy and test again in 20 minutes.

+3-39 If I hadn't had to spend so much time clearing bubbles and rechecking I might think I made a mistake with the dose. Does this mean he gets a dosecrease like the other times?

Powder would get a reduction on any numbers <50.

Please feed HC -- more that what you did the last time, and then re-test in 20 min. You need to get him into the 50s or higher.

Now 37 @3.15 won't eat gravy or turkey with a little syrup will only eat plain turkey Do I sit tight or rub syrup on his gums? If so how much?

Have you tried honey or maple syrup? Is he refusing food in general? If he'll eat LC, mix 2 drops of Karo in it.

I should be testing but I opened up some lc whiskas and put the two drop s of syrup in it and he's eating it. Who said variety is the spice of life ? Oh yeah it was Powder :evil: Gotta test if he's done. I leave the room 'cause I wouldn't want him to knopw how important it was to me that he's eating :lol:

WHEW! He's 52. I just peeked in and he's sitting there "as cool as cucumber" With his pleased as punch look on his face. Had us hopping and typing :roll:

that's true Lori but the past week is teaching me to get by on less sleep. I'm not a zombi yet @-) :lol: I just am so grateful to not be going through this alone :YMHUG: I don't even want to think what poor Powder was going to be subjected to if I hadn't googled and found FDMB. Time to test He's starting to hide from me. Should I take that personally :?:

That's OK. As long as he eats when his numbers are low is what's important. At this point, if he snacks/grazes to keep him surfing is fine.

I'm not sure when he'll eat but if he gets hungry he should provided it's what he thinks will be tasty. What do I do with his morning dose 1/2 it or what?

Should I take the 911 down now?

You can drop the dose to 0.25u. (I posted in response to your question earlier!!)

Hopefully the .25 will give you and Powder a bit to relax into a dose without worrying about skydiving to the 40s!

Sorry Sienne I missed that post :oops: I took it out and I'll give him 0.25 tomorrow. Hope he doesn't bounce too badly but at least I can believe he'll come back down. I'm so anxious to show his vet how well he's doing and bring him some info. It will so help future kitties in need and maybe current ones he's treating.

Hey -- it's not a crisis. This was just a little bit of excitement to spice up your evening!!

This is a first experience with low numbers and all of us go through that bit of nail biting. Once you've had a chance to catch your breath, read over the info here. It's a great way to be prepared for the next time! You did great.
 
Well he's up to 85 @ +5 so I think I can go to bed. Good thing I was reading about tiny doses yesterday and bought a magnifier.It should make it a little easier and the pictures of the doses were great. Thanks and goodnight to all two legged and four legged individuals.
