Yesterday and night was quite the blue day for Max but since most of it was in the low blues I think it was a good one. He was making those noises again this morning. I might have gotten it recorded if I didn't erase it by mistake.

Today is my dad's birthday. He was the most wonderful man ever to have been on this earth. We all miss him terribly, especially my mom. She is still very weak but fortunately hasn't spiked another fever. Perhaps the antibiotic will work. If the infections go away they then need to figure out what to do be it a longer course of them or a different strategy to keep it that way.

Vines and prayers to all beans and kitties in need.

Thanks, Angela. I've been giving Max less food at insulin time to see if that will lessen the food spike. I'm not sure yet if it is helping or not. I'm feeding him at pre-shot time and then again at +2. I'm also trying to feed him less so he will lose some weight but so far that isn't happening.

Bummer on accidentally deleting the recording. Very nice start for Max, and hopefully he'll turn that +2 around for another lovely blue surf.

I was going to ask if what to do about the expiring insulin and whether to try the pen that I tried when I thought the vial was toast or a new one. I think he was likely bouncing when I tried it. I could also open a new one. Since this is still working I suppose I should stick with it a bit longer? The date on it is 9/14. So confusing for me.

It will be more confusing if Mr. Max decides to bounce from the green. He just took a dive between 3.5 and 4.5. :roll: confused_cat

:YMHUG: on your DF's birthday. I'm always a little sad on mine. The anniversary of his death is coming up soon, too - another day to remember him and miss him more than a normal day. I'm glad you have good memories to treasure.

I'd say that insulin is still getting the job done. Way to go, Max! :mrgreen: Following up a blue surf with a green surf is awesome, but maybe you should try surfing just a tad higher? Fifty is nifty, but seventy is heavenly! (Okay, so I'm not a poet! :roll: :lol: )

So agree on the 70's, Tricia. I tested again but don't think I got enough blood so it was pulling it in. Last tests when that happened it was lower than it should be or error. So I retested and got 58. I fed a little more 9%+hc though at 7.25 it might be overkill but he didn't get that much and I would like him to go up at least to 70 soon. Thanks for checking in on us.

I was thinking if he could get used to surfing blue maybe he would adjust to low blue or high green without the bounces. Usually when he goes into the 50's a bounce is sure to follow.

Thanks for the prayers and visits Deanna, Carla, and Marilyn. Max must be reacting to all that food. I didn't get enough blood on the last stick and when I did it again got 88. So I used my backup meter and got 107. I settled on 98. Either way he should be back on track. For him that likely means going way up after all these low numbers.

Bouncing already. He made it hard to shoot tonight and when I took the needle out it was bent so I hope he got it all. :roll: :?

Max is looking really good today- if PMPS is the extent of the bounce then maybe it will just be a mini bouncee!
