9/29 Gordy AMBG 152, +19=288 - still not eating

Are you able to test today? Not much food...and a blue start...could mean some lower numbers today.

I hope he gets to feeling better - sending 'feel better vines':)

I managed to score some A/D from the ER vet. I tried to get some Cerenia out of them, but no luck. She recommended that if he doesn't hold down the A/D, then try boiled chicken and rice.

He ate a spoonful of it and I am waiting to make sure he doesn't throw up. Right now he is under the bed, his fave spot. When he come out I'll grab a test.

I hope he gets better =/

Sounds like possible issues with kidneys. Has the vet done labs recently?

He has kept that small amount of food down, but refuses to eat anything else since, except 3 treats. I offered him the boiled chicken... no luck yet. (Rex was pleased though.)

I made him come out of the bedroom and he is now being anti social in the kitchen.

I will be at a friend's house most of the evening, but my parents will do the kitties for shot time. I prepped a syringe with just 1u. I don't want to give his normal dose but I need him to have some.

At this point, I'm planning on bringing him to vet in AM and dropping him. I think I can get my dad to go get him, or a friend. Ugh.

Not in a few months, once he stabilized on the thyroid meds. Kidneys are a high probability since he was in beginning stages of CKD.

Sorry to hear that Gordy isn’t feeling well. Maestro was just diagnosed with CKD and I’m seeing some of the symptoms and behavior you are describing. Hang in there.

Any chance he is constipated like before? Have you managed to get a ketone test today? Inappetance plus not enough insulin is a bad combination if he had infection or inflammation. I am glad you are giving some insulin tonight. You could have given half a dose this morning too, at least. Kitties undergoing surgery who cannot eat get half dose per most vets. Insulin doses more in the body than combat carbs in food.

Is he drinking fluids! Would tuna juice or chicken broth, unsalted appeal to him?

He has had a big poo in the past day and a half because I saw it in the boxes earlier.

He is pretty hard to get a ketone test on so I haven't done one =/ we've gone 3 years without any ketone issues *knocks on wood*

I don't like giving him insulin if he flat out refuses to eat. Every time I do, he crashes too quick and its really hard to get him back up since he isn't eating.

He seems to still be drinking water, but tuna juice may work. (If i had any...)

Have you tried assist feeding? When Neko was off her food, it gave me the confidence to shoot the full dose.
Not on this bout of whatever is happening. But when I've tried in the past, hasn't gone well. Its probably from just not doing it enough to confidently do it. Makes me nervous to think him not hypoing could be riding on it. Its what brought him to the ER when he had pancreatitis.

I'm definitely dropping him off at the vet tomorrow for them to do the blood tests and see if they can pinpoint what's happening.

Baby food as @Bobbie And Bubba said is a good idea, or Recovery from Royal Canin (a winner with my Macka). Tiki cat velvet mousse works well too because the smell is irresistible. Good luck and I hope you can find out what's going on tomorrow! Fingers crossed.

He came back out and requested more food. And then more food! Mom shot the 1u. No pretest cuz she only has one functioning arm lol and my dad doesn't like testing (he is just frustrated by it).

I just got home and I am cautiously saying he looks better!

He was asking for more food but I told him he had to wait some. We've had no puke today and I want to keep it that way.
