Yesterday's Condo

I like this +3 better than last night's, nice and easy. Maybe Yahtzee will show me what a *normal* curve looks likt tonight

I may have figured out why Yahtzee wasn't eating as much yesterday. He seems to turn his nose up to FF Beef, which has been his fav for about two months now. Uh oh, he has already given up completely on FF Chicken and Turkey & Giblets, and now Beef too?!?! So this morning he got his Salmon meal for the week. I hope it's just something with the batch, otherwise I'm running out of foods he'll eat! Going to run to a different store tomorrow to buy a couple cans to test.

I also think he may be dealing with a hairball. Twice this week I found a bit of vomit with a small amount of fur. It doesn't look like he's gotten it all the way out yet. Does anyone have any suggestions for FD friendly hairball remedies?

I was just looking at your spreadsheet and wondering where you post was for today.
And like magic.... you appeared.

vaseline. not necessarily tasty... but it doesn't have the sugar that the regular hairball treatments have.

do you have a Petco store? they seem to have most all of the choices from our lists....

Laxatone, in the Natural flavor only, doesn't contain corn or malt syrup. However, a bit of vegetable oil or butter or vasoline will also help.

I would get a +4 just to see where Yahtzee's numbers are going.

Re: 9/28 Yahtzee PMPS 109 +3~85

Thanks Marje! I tell him that as he's getting brushed (which he LOVES!). And who hoo for nice cycles tonight! I see Gracie's looking better :-D

Rhiannon, thanks for the Vaseline tip! I don't know if he'll actually eat it, but it's sure worth a try! And yes, I am blessed with many pet stores within a 30 min drive, including Petco. That's usually where I go, but since FF wasn't on sale I bought a couple cases from Wal-mart. Hmmm... Yahtzee seems to have something against the Wal-mart FF Beef. I've tried numerous other types of food, all the 'decent ingredient' LC ones first, but my picky eater doesn't exactly cooperate. He just sniffs the dish and looks up at me like, yeah right you don't really expect me to eat this do you? And then walks away. I thought everything was fine when he accepted FF, but has since been turning his nose up at certain flavors. I keep trying to get him switched over to raw (I got a sample of Feline's Pride) but he'll only eat small amounts at a time. So I keep experimenting :YMSIGH:

Sienne, thanks for the Laxatone idea! I was not aware that they had any FD friendly varieties, so I'll be on the lookout for the Natural flavor. This is a huge relief that there's actually a product out there that we can safely use! Despite daily brushings, long haired cats are doomed to some hairballs.

Re: 9/28 Yahtzee PMPS 109 +3~85

Oh I doubt he'll want to eat it voluntarily. But I know someone here said their cat did.
Just like the laxatone, my vet had said to just put some on your finger and put it on their palate so they have to "deal" with it.
Just a little at a time, like 1/2 an inch.

Looking great, Yahtzee!!

Good luck with the vasoline etc., Deb  Ain't that the truth about long-haired cats getting hairballs even with daily brushing! Our Coon kitty, Henry, knows all about that

Happy Caturday!
Hugs
Jane
