Good morning.
A flat day for Mikan yesterday.
A high start this morning again.

DH is coming home today but this poses another round of stress. He got COVID while out there. It's a very mild case, kind of like a head cold and symptoms are improving. I am getting the house ready for in-house separation. I don't want cats getting it either (apparently, it can raise BG!).

A challenge ahead. Wish me luck!

Oh no, Kit. That’s not great news about DH. Just stay away from him. And the cats, too.

My DH had it 2x and I made sure he wasn’t allowed near Ivy at all. And of course I stayed away from him as soon as we had a hint he didn’t feel well even before testing positive.
You already know he has it so no question about being near him.
Hope he recovers easily and quickly.

Let’s hope Mikan and Ivy have a gentle slide down from Mars today. Sending you extra hugs for a calm weekend :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,
Thanks for sharing your experience. It is so reassuring - I'm just so nervous about managing all these.
When I get nervous, I have to move - I keep doing things, changing the filter of the air cleaner and getting the house ready.
Amazon.com is the beneficiary of my nervousness - I got tests, supplies, masks, cough med, disposable paper supplies.
I even got the shot yesterday - even though it's too late, I know. Takes about 2 weeks for that to work! But I just had to do something. Taking extra vitamins.
Well, I'm doing everything I can. May not be enough, but I can't do better than my best. o_O

I hope our girls do well today. I really appreciate your support, Staci. It means so much to me. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

You’re doing everything you can do, Kit.
Honestly having gone through it twice I think what saved me was getting as far away from DH as I could and staying away from him.
(And his first time was before we even had a vaccine, it was October 2020).
Somehow, I managed to not get it even when he had it, but believe me when I tell you, we were nowhere near close to each other.

I was happy to sleep in a different bedroom. Bye buddy, see ya later.

At the time, Ivy was still sleeping with us in bed but she made sure to find me and slept with me down the hall :)
That’s my girl.

Of course I made him sleep with the door closed anyway, so she didn’t have a choice and she found me.
You’re doing everything you can and I think you should be fine as long as you’re not near him. :cool:

I’m sure it can’t hurt to have gotten the updated shot even though it may not be fully effective.
Masking works wonders, I believe.
If you look at the photos from 100 years ago with the last pandemic, they’re all wearing masks. That’s no coincidence ;)

And shopping for supplies will be helpful and also makes you feel proactive. Thank goodness we have Amazon deliveries. :p

DH is oblivious to many things :rolleyes: so I'm preparing everything I can and I will give him specific and strict instructions as to how he should behave around the house.
I think today and tomorrow will be the key. I'm thinking of escaping to my office as much as I can if Mikan's stable.

And I do like the hazmat suit idea. I think I wanted to use plastic wrap around myself in 2020 to stay safe :p:p:p
 
Ahhhh that's so tough! Great job being proactive about it! Hopefully you will avoid it. Anecdotally, I know of quite a few couples in which one got it and the other didn't. :bighug::bighug:

I've been treating him as VIRUS and avoiding him as much as I can.
He tested VERY positive (dark T line) today so we may have a long way to go.
I am turning into a Lysol monster. Absolutely wiping everything! :p
 
Okay, I'm sorry to hear DH has COVID (somehow Eric and I have both avoided it, or have never shown signs). But I'm glad it seems like a mild case!

Alicia, for now, I can't see him as a human. All I see is one giant viral cell with a mask on. :eek::p
The best way is to simply stay out, as long as Mikan allows me.

I hope this will pass soon. The person who has given him the germ has tested negative yesterday.
Fingers crossed that DH will turn less of the giant cell soon.
