I'm continuing with the ondansetron for now. No poop again yesterday. I guess I'll increase the Miralax a little again.

I still can't believe that Harvey got his wings. I'm sending prayers and love to Tricia and Mark as they begin their first day with all four kitties in their hearts. At some point there will be some very lucky fur babies to find their way to these wonderful beans. Rest in peace dear Harvey. Say hi to your siblings from LL.

You can from what my vet told me up the Miralax, it is dose to effect apparently. The addition of raw pumpkin "helped" things along when mine were delayed in the poop department...

I've upped the Miralax to a big 1-4 t twice a day but I guess I'll add another 1/8 at some point. It's the AH and with ondansetron making it worse. Of course tge CKD is also part of this. I've thought about adding pumpkin but Max isn't fond of it and adding vitamins to his food I don't want to mess with the taste any more. He likes Gerbers squash but it doesn't have much fiber. Thanks.

My mom is too weak to walk right now. They are going to try another medication to get some of the fluid off her heart but it's very hard on the kidneys which have already taken a big hit from the Lasix. Thanks for the prayers and vines.

Totally get the not wanting to tip the balance with anything added to the food..my CKF kitties were so hard to get eating once they quit..cried an ocean with them over food. There is no feeling so helpless..:bighug:sending hugs..
I am so sorry your mom is having to go through all of this..:bighug::bighug:and so sorry for you as you go through it alongside her. Healing vibes to your battered heart:bighug:
 
Something is going on with Doodles and the poop thing the last week or so too. He was consistent with the 1/4 tsp twice a day but thinking about adding a tad to a mid day meal too. You do everything right for Mr. Max and always sending appy vines to your sweet boy. I sure hope the change in meds helps your Mom feel better. Many :bighug::bighug: vines and prayers for you both...always Elise.
 
Hope that Max will poop for you. I do the 1/4 tsp of miralax twice a day too along with 1tsp of pumpkin twice a day but, I understand you not wanting it to deter him from his fuds. I have given 1 tsp of coconut oil when constipation was a problem and that always did the trick.
 
Poop vines for Max. I agree about not messing with his food/flavor. Hopefully the added Miralax will help soon.

Where did this come from? I'm supposed to leave for a doctor's appointment in 1 1/2 hours. He just got hc and I'll test in 20. He was sleeping in his usual spot. It's around nadir so he should come up fast. I'll be gone for 1 1/2 hours. Max up please.
 
Holy cow Max! That was bad timing.:eek: Congrats on the reduction, and the poop. Wonder if there's a correlation. Time to get up Max.

I guess I need to wake him and test at +4-5! Depending on where he is at I might be able to get a neighbor to give him more food an hour after I leave. I think she will be home but not sure. I think he would eat hc or at least drink tge gravy.

Thank you for thinking of us. It was very hard coming downstairs this morning and not seeing Harvey in my chair, but all the kitty stuff still everywhere. This is going to take some time. :(

You are always in my thoughts and prayers, Tricia. I can't imagine what has happened in the last eight months. It's just not fair. I wish I could do more than send cyber hugs.

It's just a dermatologist appointment today. Yesterday was gyno. The new one is fine.
 
So I overdosed him on hc and then I rushed to my appointment. I have it on my calendar for today. They say I'm in the books for October 28th. I even called back to verify right after making the appointment. I wonder how high Max will be tonight, lol. He's under the bed again.

Now Max....how about a nice safe surf tonight?? That's enough drama for one day!!

Hope they find the right mix on your mom's meds, Elise.....my DM is dealing with the same issues.....too much Lasix, hard on kidneys... too little, hard on the heart

Agreed about too much being better since I needed to leave. Had I stayed home I might have given a bit less since it was pretty late for him to drop but who knows with a 32 or 26 I might have still done the same.

As for my mom, it's pretty much out of our hands. She's giving up I think and honestly though it kills me, I don't blame her.:(
