Morning LL,

First off....yuck on the AMPS, not Leo's usual numbers, but i ran out of OT ultra strips a few days ago and have been using my backup Aviva Accuchek meter. I had 1 lone OT strip left yesterday and used it and the aviva on the same drop of blood, and the OT was 20 points lower than the aviva. I've gotta make a run to walmart this morning to purchase a calculator for my exam and have no choice but to buy OT strips at walmart (super expensive i know) i don't know of any place online or here in the city to buy cheap-ish OT strips.

I got up an hour early to study a bit more and totally threw Leo off his schedule! He thought it was time to eat breffis and get his needle. We had a good test, shoot (tho a little flinchy) and breffis. He is currently chasing a moth in my apt.

Exam time at 9 this morning and i'm a little worried about this exam, but i'll do the best i can i suppose.

Have a great day all and i'll visit condos when i get back from exam writing.

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Still not a bad # this morning, for Leo. I hope that you're successful with getting more strips for your favorite meter this morning, and that they're not too expensive. Have a good day!

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Good luck with the exam, Tracy. That's still not a bad AMPS, and it's probably higher than your main meter, so not to worry. Have a good day and good luck again.

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Good luck on your exam!!! You'll do great!

Yuck on the AMPS for Leo. Hope he comes down for you and you can still afford to eat after your Walmart run.

Have a great day chicka!

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Hi Tracy & Leo,
That AMPS may not be Leo's usual, but considering it's from a different meter, I think you could easily "think" 20 points lower! (And you don't even need a calculator for that!)

We are wishing you good luck on your exam today. Be cool!

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Thanks for your support in Rusty's condo yesterday. He is lookin' good this morning.

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Hi guys .. I know this is a higher number for leo, but still looking good! I wish you luck on your exam and hope you can find some cheaper strips soon .. have a great day!

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

(((Tracy))) I think Leo is still looking good too!!! Have you ever bought OT strips off ebay? That's where I got mine. I just got 350 (7 boxes) for $22/box no shipping.

Good luck on your exam. You are a smart young lady...you'll do great!

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133

Sucks being in Canada huh. BOOOOOOO. I'm 2.5 hours from the US border and drive down to ogdensburg walmart to buy their Relion confirm and strips. $39 for 100 and our dollar is stronger. If you know someone in the US it might be worth getting a bunch shipped. Or ebay. When I was using the accucheck sometimes I found strips on ebay cheap but by that point I loved the confirm and decided to ask my neighbor to pick some up when she was visiting relatives in the US.

Re: 9/28 Leo AMPS 133, +2 88, +6 72

Haha nope i did not even need a calculator to figure out my accuchek strips are WAAAAY off!! Oh Ella you make me laugh!

OMG on the price of the strips Marje!!!! :o :o Is that a normal price or was that just one hell of a deal? I check out prices of OT strips on ebay, but they aren't all that great of a price, usually 200 strips for $120-$150 and by the time you factor in shipping to the great white north it works out to be about the same price as costco. Last week Leo's grandfather used 100 OT strips during the week  usually i use about 25 strips a week. I asked him "WTH dad?!?!?!" I think he goes a little overboard testing, poking Leo 3-4 times and using just as many strips just to make sure the number is ok to him, testing himself, my mom, the dogs, the other cats, all the mice that Leo catches.............................

Yes it does suck living in Canada......when it comes to buying strips that is! I'm probably about 8-9 hours away from South Dakota, i was just thinking the other day about maybe making a trip to buy some of the FF that we don't get in Canada, and now maybe a Relion and strips! I phoned petfooddirect yesterday to inquire about shipping costs for 4 flats of FF and the shipping would have been $77.00  :o What a rip-off! I guess its a trade off tho, we get cheap Lantus here and expensive strips and down in the US its the other way around.

I'm not sure how i did on my exam, it seemed to go ok but then again you just never know.

Lookin' good this evening, Leo!

When switched from the OT to the Relion Confirm a few weeks ago, I did a few side-by-side tests from the same drop of blood, and the OT was consistently higher than the confirm by about 20 points. Kinda interesting that you got a read that was 20 points lower than the Aviva...not sure what any of it means, but interesting none-the-less. Like you, I was never highly successful at finding those incredible deals that Marje finds on eBay for the OT strips...that's why I finally caved and switched to the Relion. The strips are soooo much cheaper, at least here in the States.

Have a great evening!!!

Amy

The Aviva runs very high to other meters which is why I stopped using it. I like seeing lower numbers!!! Plus, the strips are mega expensive. Just take the 20 points off the 133 from this morning....we won't tell!! Of course, if you take the 20 points off the 88 from PMPS, that's scary!!

Does Petco ship to Canada? They have their FF on sale right now for $13.20 for a case of 24 and the Purebites are on sale too. They have free shipping for over $49, but I don't know if that includes Canada. Also, you can buy the generic Relion meter and strips on ADW and it is wayyyy cheap. They call it the Glucocard 01. I just got 350 strips and a free meter for $100 with free shipping and I found a $5 coupon online.

Tracy

I can usually find the strips on ebay on the "buy now" for between $20-25/box; I buy only from the top rated sellers offering free shipping. Good luck!!!!

Hi - great condo! I love DGp - omg and I thought I tested too much. He must really love Leo. :-D

Hope your exam went well. :-D

I can so relate to the meter discussion... i went tough a phase with a meter that tester 20% higher. I ditched it shortly after I bought it. stoopid meter - made Mannie look really bad...

I ma still using the accu check aviva as I have been for yrs--need less blood, but the strips can be a pain in the butt!--I buy them on amazon or ebay, had pretty much success with them--
Just had an FF sale here=48 cents a can for a week!! Usually 50 cents at Pet Supplies Plus--Dont know if they have a website, soo I wil check!
133!! I will take that for Moonie anyday Oh well I guess every thing is relative
Have a great Night!! Hugs & lub from us!
