Had our doctor appt today - oncologist vet is out of town so we got blood work done and I'll be giving her chlorambucil (leukeran) tomorrow, Friday and Sunday.

They were booked next Tues and only had a lunchtime appt next Wednesday... I took the lunch appointment, but not sure if I'll be able to keep an eye on her after - I may have to go back to work. That sucks.

She did start eating last night after I had the talk with her. She refused dinner and about 45 minutes later started eating and ate on and off all evening. She's getting cypro pretty much daily now.

I think I'm going to take myself out to eat since she didn't get meds tonight and I don't have to watch her so closely.

Enjoy your dinner, sometimes just getting out of the house and away for a little bit can refresh us. Hope it works for you.

I may be wrong, but Isn't cypro supposed to be given daily? My prescription says to give 1/4 tablet (4mg) three times a day.
I believe I've heard it is a drug that needs to build up in the system. But, again, I may be incorrect.

Thanks. I'm giving cypro twice a day - 1/4 or 1/6 depending on how she's doing, usually skip chemo days cuz that's enuf chemicals in her body.

In the past, the effect on her was so strong I didn't need to let it build up - just every so often was enough.

I may give the mirtazapine another try soon
 
Im glad she ate some on her own yesterday, I know how upset you were in your last condo ... still keeping you both in my prayers ...
 
I'm glad Kasha ate by herself and I hope she continues to do so. Hope you enjoyed your dinner out, Krys. You deserve it.
 
You and Kasha are in my prayers. I know what a hard time you are having with all of this and I wish there was something I knew to help. I'm glad Kasha is eating again and I really hope you see some improvement soon.
 
Krys, I'm so glad that Kasha ate some on her own, last night. It' hard to see your baby not eating. Guess the talk did it. :smile:
By the time you see this, you will have had a nice dinner out, and hopefully you'll feel refreshed. :smile:
 
Sweet Kasha, she just has a hard time eating on demand. So glad to hear that she did eat, and that you're doing something for yourself tonight.
