Sorry I did not mean to drop off the face of the earth here but I had some serious
medical problems near the end of August that put me in the hospital for 2 weeks.
As I layed in the ER in critical condition all I could think about was Arnie. I was
so worried about what was going to happen to him, as he was home all alone.
Luckily I have some very special friends here who took care of him while I was
layed up. He gave them a real hard time the first few days but then mellowed
out and let them give him his insulin twice a day. If you look at his spreadsheet
you will see a 2 week period where there were no tests. I told them to just give
him his 6 units twice a day and don't worry about testing. This was all new to
them and i figured he would be fine and he was. But it appeared that I got home
just in time. From my very first test his numbers were LOW and I continually
dropped his dosage. He is down to 3.0 units now twice a day. He don't seem to
have the same ferocious appetite that he had before so I've cut him back to two
feedings a day (plus snack in early AM) instead of 3 full cans and a snack. He is
fine with this and I am SO HAPPY with his numbers now!! By the looks of things
I may even be cutting the dosage more in the near future!! I have a LOT going
on personally with DR. appointments and such so I just am not going to have time
to do a condo daily. I will try to do one once a week with a full cat report.
Arnie is glad that I am home and I am so glad that we both survived. I love him
so much! Hope everyone and their furballs are doing well. I am going back to
work tomorrow. Life is finally getting back to normal..sort of anyway!!
