Please let today go better; less screw ups, less mistakes, less stoopidity and less headache. I would greatly appreciate your help today!
Thank you, Deborah

Good morning all,

Shasta is doing well this morning. Woke me up WITH my alarm. Very talkative, purry, rubby and lovey! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi Deborah, I love your prayer! :-D I'll also say a prayer for a better day for you. I went back to see what all happened. So you have a talker, too! Not too far off blue there for Shasta! Thanks for visiting us yesterday. Have a nice day.

Re: 9/27 Shasta AMPS=270; +1=222; +1.5=222

That's a good prayer to remember on those crazy days we ALL to stoopid things. We want to beat ourselves up, but all this isn't exactly easy, but requires time and dedication. So don't beat yourself up - today is a new day, and have a good one.

Just saw your "yesterday". Today has got to be better!
Residue on the needle sometimes gets on the fur (I wipe the needle with a piece of tissue before shooting). And sometimes, when you withdraw the needle, a little insulin might still be in the needle and get into the fur. Not to worry. If it was a "legitimate" fur shot, you would know it!

Have a great day and good luck getting the kids ready for the concert.

I hope your prayer works but I will be sending you an extra one. Hoping for a much better day for you! I'm not sure about the clicking sound on a kitty but our drooler had a clicking noise in his knees both times his meniscus was damaged. If Shasta is jumping and walking fine, I don't think that would be an issue. You would definitely know just by watching her.

Have a great day Deborah!!

Well...I thought today was going to go better...hmmmm...maybe it wasn't...maybe it was. Found out at lunch that tonight was Parent/Teacher conference...awesome. 6:30-8:30pm...ugh! (moved Shasta's shot time from 5:45pm to 6:00pm...ducked out of P/T conference at 8pm to get home for a +2) On top of that curve ball, I started getting the aches, hot/cold, and headache. Did I mention that about 25% of my kids are out with flu/flu-like symptoms. I WILL NOT GET SICK. I WILL NOT GET SICK. I CANNOT GET SICK!

Shasta was very talkative and lovey dovey when I got home. However, she did not appreciate that I ran out and fed horses before her! I fear that she's not getting enough calories. She has a belly pudge, but I just can't tell if she's taking in enough calories to keep her energy going. I also noticed that her pee puddles are small in comparison to even just a few days (~ the size of a half dollar, little bigger.) I don't know what to think or do. Thoughts?

Caught my attention, too!

Here, Shasta...here's more food...eat...please!

Re: 9/27 Shasta PMPS=220; +2=150; +3=72; +4=44

Hi Deborah,
You okay with that 44?

I fear that she's not getting enough calories. She has a belly pudge, but I just can't tell if she's taking in enough calories to keep her energy going.
About the only way you can tell is to get her weight periodically. If she's maintaining her weight, then the calories should be sufficient. I'm usually pretty good at figuring that stuff out, but I always look at calories per can, and of course my little piglet cats hoover down everything I put in front of them in minutes, so for me, it's easy figuring total calories.

I also noticed that her pee puddles are small in comparison to even just a few days
Do you add water to her food, or does she drink much out of a bowl every day? Have you seen her straining to pee? I guess I'm asking "do you think she's getting enough hydration?"

Lower numbers usually result in less pee.

Is Shasta lethargic? Why do you think she's not getting enough calories? Is she losing weight?

Re: 9/27 Shasta PMPS=220; +2=150; +3=72; +4=44

Hi Carl & Sienne,

I'm ok with the 44. I fed her some 3% Fancy Feast Turkey & Giblets; ate most of it; now napping on my shoulder. I really need to get a +4.5 right now, but she's so cozy. I'll finish this post and then disturb her. I do add water to her food and she drinks from her water bowl. I added more litter to her LB tonight, at which time she had to go christen the new stuff...so I hung around to "watch". Before peeing, she looked straight at me and yowled pretty loud and then went about her business. I took that yowl to mean "STOP STARING AT ME, MOM!" Then she covered and then pooped, but only 3 small "nuggets". :? I was thinking about getting some miralax for her just in case she's a little stopped up.

Sometimes I hate that cats nap all the time...it's hard to distinguish a sleeping cat from a lethargic cat. I would say she is mostly a napping cat, but mostly it's the feeling hip bones (not prominent) and the back bone (again, not prominent) that makes me worry. I've been a bad been and haven't ordered my baby scale to start weighing her. Maybe I'm just being oversensitive. :YMSIGH:

LOL, they probably wonder why they can't have a bathroom door like the beans have.

It's really hard NOT to be oversensitive. She's your baby, and you're going to worry no matter what.

Nice little increase in BG, and hope she surfs a little while for you.

Thanks, Carl! I was just explaining to a parent tonight at Parent/Teacher conference how amazing the people on this message board are! People that get me, that get the kitty insanity and definitely that get the kitty love! Thank you for checking on us! Hope you are having a great night.

Yikes, Shasta! Where did that 44 come from? Definitely get the baby scale. Then you can tell for sure if her weight is changing. Sending no flu vines.
