Good Morning, Everyone,

It looks like Rusty has bounced from the fleeting green he may (or may not!) have seen yesterday. The 311 was recorded on the Arkray Mini meter. I'm going to go with that one after yesterday's experiments didn't show any significant difference between the three meters I tested, simply because it is more recent and because the Relion Micro seemed to me to be slowing down when reluctantly fetching data from its memory. In any event, after the bounce clears we are going to go up a drop to try to get Rusty back into consistently more normal numbers.

Rusty had a good night sleeping between his beans. He enjoyed his Wellness turkey breakfast (but I must admit that I am apprehensive about Wellness after yesterday's discussion). We had a good shot. And now he is curled up in his little bed next to the radiator. AND THE HEAT HAS BEEN TURNED ON!!! (very cold and damp last night, so we decided it was close enough to October to turn on the heat).

I hope that today will be a day of bounce clearing and getting back to the blue grotto, if not the green lagoon.

Ugh on that pink Rusty! Since when are you a bouncy kitty? Good luck with the extra juice when the bounce is cleared.

Oh brrrrr. I can't believe you have already turned on the heat. We still have our AC on. I bet Rusty is glad to have his radiator. It won't be long and there will be snow on the ground.

I read a little about the Wellness. That is pretty frightening. Tarragon wouldn't ever eat it but I can understand the concern for those that do. We are strictly a FF household and Tarragon won't let me forget it. :lol:

Hi Ella, I use the Arkay meter and really like it. I have the Relion Confirm as a back up. Hope Rusty comes down. Thanks for the good Vetty vines for Mags.

It was an interesting discussion on the Wellness - as it is what I have gone back to feeding too. Mannie has always done OK with it. well, we shall see what pans out on this one. Had to laugh though: this AM I grabbed a can of Merrick.

Interesting too on the meters. I may have to find another - I till use the maxima, but it is no longer made, just the strips are. Guess I should find another before they decide the demand for the strips isn't worth the production.

and the heat is on? Brrr..... still haven't gone there yet. I hope we can hold out until Nov1, but we shall see.

Yes, I've got heat on. I can't get my day started, when cold. I love these sunny afternoons, when it's so tempting to lie in a sunbeam with a kitty.

I'm going to look up the Arkray. I really don't like the Confirm. I often don't get the strip pushed in far enough, forget to look for the blinking blood drop, and waste the strip. grr_red

Hi again,

Just to heed the advice of the knowledgeable with regard to the Wellness/urinary blockage thread started yesterday in LL, this afternoon I served Merrick BG turkey for Rusty's lunch and added water, as I always do. He gobbled it up. I'm glad I still had some of this food in "storage" and am going to make an effort now to add a greater variety of brands to Rusty's diet. For one thing, BG Turkey has fewer calories than Wellness Turkey and Rusty can afford to lose about a pound! I also have a case of By Nature Turkey and Turkey Liver. I see in her new chart that Dr. Lisa cannot recommend this food because the company refused to give her the information she requested. However, it was a favorite of Stu's, never raised his bgs, does not appear to have any questionable ingredients, and Rusty has liked it on occasion. So I'm going to try it again.

Ella, that's good to hear Rusty likes the Merrick BG turkey. I think I also have some I bought some time ago. I also plan on changing and mixing.

Thanks for commenting on the Arkray in Check's condo. I knew it was the same, so I don't know what made me think the strip wouldn't stick halfway in, like the Confirm does.
I got a new Presto Wavesense today.....it's slightly different than the old one...used same strips though. I haven't read the booklet yet, to see why its been changed. The buttons are different.

I don't like the side buttons on the Confirm, and the fact that you have to hold it in for a few seconds, to turn it on, to check results at a later time.
On the other hand, the Presto takes a moment longer for the results to come up.
Gees, I'm picky :lol:

Yikes on the pink! Okay, there's a yellow, now get back down to the blues and greens!

I use the Relion, and it's the only one I've used. I don't mind it, but I agree with the comments. We test in the same place every day, and I copy the value off the meter before it turns off, otherwise, yes, it's a pain!

Just about blue there Rusty! Nice recovery from the stinky pinky at amps. I hear ya on feeling apprehensive about feeding the Wellness. I've tried Merrick several times with Ella and she snubs me every time. Glad Rusty approves!
