Max had a great day and night. Maybe too good night. He was 68 at +7 and then jumped to 122 by +8.5. I dozed off and missed a test during the +6 so don't know for sure if he dropped under 60. With all the food he ate I doubt it. I wonder if feeding him so late in the cycle brought his amps up. I gave him a small amount of ff at +8.5 so I could get a few hours of sleep. He has only stayed green from one cycle into the next a few times so that was pretty exciting.

Not sure if a bounce or food spike. I usually wait until +2 but my mom might need to go to the hospital this morning so I tested to see if it was a bounce for sure or not. She is shivering and had a temp of 99. They gave her tylenol and will see what happens from there. Why won't the docs believe us? They only reluctantly started the antibiotic yesterday and it is likely too little too late once again. We are using an internist and an infectious disease doc. I just don't get it . Nervous time once again.

Thank you Shelly. Maybe we will catch a break and she will feel better when she wakes up. My sister emailed her internist and my mom went back to sleep.

Max appears to be headed for a normal cycle.

(((Elise))) I am sending vines your way for whatever you need. I'm sorry about your mom, that has to be so stressful, on top of taking care of Max:( I hope they can figure out how to help your mom, and that you get/got some good rest. Hugs!

Thank you Rachel. I think I got maybe two hours of sleep last night. We are in limbo again with my mom. For now the tylenol is working but she doesn't feel well. It is so sweet of you to check in on us. Prayers are greatly appreciated.

Prayers for you, your mom and Max.. I hope you get some rest and your mother starts feeling much better. Sometimes, doctors don't always know our family like we do (just like our kitties).. Is your mother able to take Motrin? You could try alternating Tylenol/Motrin just like you do for children (every 3 hours up to maximum dose of each/day) as long as there's no contraindications for her taking it. Might make her feel a little better too. Prayers and Huggs!!

My mom is on coumadin so she can't take motrin. Thanks for the suggestion. Things are status quo over there. The chills stopped but could come back when the tylenol wears off. We haven't heard back from her doc yet. She did start an antibiotic last night that is supposed to work for all the bacteria but that is what happened three (I think) weeks ago and she ended up going to the hospital by ambulance.

Max seems to be surfing but lately has had a later nadir so as long as all is status quo with my mom I'm hanging out with Max to see if he drops. My gut says he will surf blue and then likely bounce tonight or tomorrow but I've been wrong before. I'll give him another hour or two and then leave. I'm glad I got the rental car from paid for by the mechanic.

Ahh bless that darn Coumadin!! Love/hate that stuff, right? I suspected there might've been a reason but I thought I'd at least throw it out there. Anticoagulants are definitely a great reason not to add Motrin! Do you know what the infection is or where it is coming from? Sounds like you are taking great care of Max and your mama... I hate you have to go through this. Make sure you are taking care of yourself too! Praying the antibiotic starts doing it's job!

Paws crossed for blue surf so you can at least not worry so much about Max.. I'll continue the prayers!

Max will surf blue or move up to pink by tonight and likely bounce. I'm off to check on my mom.

Thanks all. My mom did okay this afternoon but fingers and paws are crossed for the evening and early morning hours. The culture showed three different bacteria which caused the docs to think it wasn't a clean catch. We knew they were wrong and the low grade fever and chills this morning confirmed that we are right. At least we convinced them to give us the one antibiotic that so far was sensitive to all three. Had we waited for another urinalysis Monday and the results wouldn't have come back until at least Thursday she definitely would have been in severe trouble again. I don't know how many more bad infections her poor body can take.

Looks like Max might have an active cycle again tonight or else he will surf blue again.

Glsd to see Max likes his +2.5u dose again. Of course, he's giving you a run again. I'm don't know how you function on two hours of sleep esp with all that is going on with your mom.

I've been keeping her in my prayers. I'm so sorry she's back in the hospital. I know this has to be getting so old for her. Many hugs for you and major healing vines for her.

Thanks Marje. So far she's at home. This morning my sister called early this morning and thought she would have to go to the hospital but gave her Tylenol and so far she's a little better. Hopefully the antibiotic will have time to work.
 
You thought so because I wrote she might have to go there. I thought so early this morning and it still might be necessary but hopefully not. I don't know how much more she can take. :cry:
