OK, so great AMPS, BUT....found out that the feeder's batteries wore out and Lightning didn't get his +8 meal last night. I wonder if not getting the food helped his PS number be so low? When he had his 68 for AMPS the other day the same thing happened...hhhmmm.....I didn't find any throw up this morning and that's why I give him the food that late, I wonder if I need to rethink his feeding schedule now? So many variables!!!!

Nice AMPS for Lightning...about that +8 snack...do you have any idea if he actually eats it then or can it be that he is waiting until later to eat. If he is waiting, then the AMPS could reflect a food bounce.
Normally, if you feed at +8, the numbers would come down....

Agreed with Pat. I know the +8 does bring Mannie down - I too wonder on when Lightning is actually eating the +8. ??

Lightning is usually sleeping/laying right next to the feeder...or at least that's what he's doing during the day or right before I go to sleep. It makes a pretty loud noise and he knows what that sound means...FOOD! So I can only assume he eats it when he hears it go off. I guess I could set my alarm for when it's going to go off and I can see if he's there to eat it.

But let's say he does eat it at +8....why wouldn't his AMPS be lower? Why is it that when I know he doesn't eat it, that his AMPS is lower? My sister (who's had an FD cat) thinks that the Lantus isn't working for him (why, I don't exactly know), but could it be that the 2-times dose with a 12 hour span isn't working for him? I know there are other insulin's out there....I don't have any idea how they work, but could it be a possibility that he needs a different kind?

Wow, AM and PM PS's are almost identical!! Haven't seen too much of that! Lightning took a nice nap next to me on the couch from about +9 til I woke him up for his PMPS.....I just love when he does that. Not much playing today because of it, but I'm sure he'll make up for it tonight
