9-27 Gizmo PMPS=258; +2=351; +3=333 Started cabergoline tonight!

I will link my previous condo as soon as I have a chance. I got Gizmo's cabergoline today and I'm very confused on the dosing. Chris from RVC told us to start at 10 micrograms per kilogram. Gizmo is between 13 and 14 pounds, which is between 5.9 and 6.4 kilograms. So his dose should be roughly 60 micrograms. However the dosing information says to give betweeen 0.3 and 0.7 milliliters. I'm just confused as to where the 0.3 and 0.7 milliliters came from and want to make sure he gets to correct dose. Is 60 micrograms the same as 0.6 milliliters?
 
Yesterday

PMPS = 184
+2 = 247
+4.25 = 285

AMPS = 370
+3 = 255
+6 = 244
+10 = 291

PMPS = 258

Hmm ... flat yellow cycle ... might be an interesting night! Started cabergoline tonight. Gizmo wasn't interested in just taking the medicine, so I mixed with his food.

Good! I would document it (calculation) on the SS. Maybe create a meds tab? Just a suggestion. I have found myself doubting everything - especially in the AM when I am not quite as alert. :confused::p:)

When are you starting it?

I was confused too at first and questioned the dose:rolleyes:.

I also mix it in with Beenie's food. Good luck :)

We started tonight. Figured I could monitor him tonight if needed and my mornings are all ready very busy. So I didn't want to add one more thing to the morning routine. Plus I wasn't sure if he would be picky about eating the food with meds mixed in and I can't monitor that in the mornings.

Yes, he did eat his food with the meds in it. I tried to squirt some into his mouth first, but he wasn't pleased about that. I was hoping he would just willingly lick it up out of the syringe. Lol.
Thanks ... we have high hopes that this is going to work for Gizmo.
 
Good luck with the cabergoline. What is the concentrations of mg per ml? It might say on the container. You use Chris's formula for thr number of mg, then figure out the ml from that. For example, if the concentrations is 3 mg per ml, that means 3 milligrams, not micrograms. There are 1000 micrograms(mcg) in a milligram. Sorry, metric math. :p

It is 100 MCG per ml.
 
It is just Day 1 of cabergoline, paws crossed we'll see some great results for Gizmo! Sorry about the pinks, but hey, Mav and Gizmo are hanging out together, probably sharing stories about their beans :rolleyes:
