Well....better late than never, right?

And the drama just keeps on coming!!…...Now she's got a URI and tomorrow is DM's day at the beauty salon so I won't be able to get China to the vet without canceling and I hate doing that since it's the one thing she really looks forward to

I do have a few antibiotics they gave me last time we had URI's affecting all 3 cats so I think I'll start her back on it in the meantime.

Now I just have to find my pill-popper!!! Of course I just had it out a few days ago and now it's nowhere to be found!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Made it over to Petco and stocked up on some of every flavor of Weruva pates that they had.....will be trying them as soon as China finishes the last of her FF with phosphorus binder mixed in. (of course I couldn't "not find" the pill popper before I drove all the way over there) :mad::mad::mad:

We used to be rank amateurs at pill popping. 18 months later, after daily prednisolone we finally got better. I wish you luck with your pill delivery. Sorry to hear about the URI.
 
Really, China? Your mamabean isn't stressed out enough already??? Okay, I know you didn't get a URI on purpose, but geez!

I hope Chine loves some of the Weruva pates. Just don't buy too much of any one, or you know what will happen.

I hope China gets over the URI soon and you were able to get the pill into her. Hopefully she'll like some of the new food. Sending prayers.
 
I may make the trip to the closes Petco and grab some if they have it - please keep us posted on how she does on it and if she likes it.

Poor China! When it rains, it pours...hope she feels better soon...and you find your pill popper...

The other night I was just sitting down to fill out a medical reimbursement form - original receipt required and it was GONE! In 10 steps from one location to another I'd lost it...somehow it had flittered off the paperwork that i was carrying and flew underneath the refrigerator!!!:eek::eek::eek: How in the world did I not see it flying off?? DH got down with a flashlight and removed the front grate ... there it was - a tiny slip of paper under the fridge - of course this was after I'd torn the house apart re-tracing my steps from one room to the next - it's cleaner now underneath all my furniture - found a few dust bunnies under the hutch...but really...look under your fridge...those tiny things have way of sprouting wings, feet...whatever...and seek the most unlikely of locations to hide out!:bighug:

Oh yeah, I know!!

They had a "buy 4, get 1 free" special going, so I bought 5 pouches, 5 of the 3oz cans and 5 of the 5.5oz cans in different flavors. (I know from experience that even if they're the same flavor, it can differ from pouch to can and between different sized cans)
 
Chanting that the ridding of the UTI is all that is needed to get China back hanging out with her human. Try blending the new food so that the first encounter, and not the second suspect encounter, is pate-ish. You're doing a great job, Chris.
 
Chris, I just found this info about GUMS & why they're not good for kitties -----Weruva has Xanthan & Locust Gums also Potato starch. ( all 3 of my cats vomited from it.)

Carob (Locust) gum – Locust bean gum (LBG, also known as carob gum, carob bean gum, carobin, E410) is a galactomannan vegetable gum extracted from the seeds of the carob tree, mostly found in the Mediterranean region. It consists chiefly of high-molecular-weight hydrocolloidal polysaccharides; LBG is used as thickening agent in pet food.

Why – First, it’s a complex sugar which is not good for cats. Second, it is very close in structure to cassia gum. See cassia gum for more information.

Cassia gum – A food additive made from the endosperm of Senna obtusifolia (also called Cassia obtusifolia or Cassia tora). It is a polysaccharide used as a thickener and gelling agent in pet food, and has E-number E499.

Why – First, it’s a complex sugar which is not good for cats. Second, there have been biological studies done on Cassia gum effects on cats, dogs, and rats in 1980’s for FDA, where kittens that were administered high dose (2.5% of daily nutrition) and kittens that were administered moderate dose(0.75% of daily nutrition) of cassia gum per day all died after 2-3 weeks; Their mothers and fathers were given cassia gum before and throughout pregnancy period. There was also a decrease in appetite and changes in digestive processing due to the fact that cassia gum absorbs much of moisture inside the digestive tract. Another interesting thing is that in the group where higher dosage was administered there were a lot more still born births and neonatal deaths.

Bummer on the URI. Dear LagoonMeisterin China: stay out of the surf and up on the beach until it clears. Pop those pills! Drink water (not niptinis)! Think: "I'm getting better every day!" Enjoy your new fuds!!!
