Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese. Best order early! OOOOOOOOO! Since they have been spending all this week with Rusty in NYC, they have perfected their NY Style hot dog pies. MAJOR YUM!!!! Try one, you'll see! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Will it ever? ;-) NOPE!! :-D :-D :-D    What a BUSY week! I think I will always prefer it that way. :-D   We have been swimming, and hiking, and to beaches, and urban parks. We have had lunches at waterfront parks, car camping some too, and on grassy lawns picnic style. These days are wonderful ones. Nicholas continues to tell me: I have had the best day grammie. Me too little man! The other day when I told William it was time for fun, he went to his car seat, dragging his cost. ;-) Life is good! :-D :-D :-D

Fall is upon the boys, with their scheduling and activities. We are fine tuning all, with some minor adjustments. Last week actually went fairly well. Swimming has moved to Mondays and Wednesdays for Nicholas. William has started on a regular schedule too. Right now he will be swimming on Mondays (this may move to Tuesdays), and Thursdays. Nicholas will be in Pre-School Tuesday and Thursdays, in the morning. When he is in school William will be at the pool. The timing of this continues to be a big plus for Me, and William. it was great to see that Nicholas continues not to mind that little bro was in the pool without him. YAY! He asks if he can watch William's videos from the pool. So he did, with this awesome look on his face. Pure joy, a smile of affection, pride, and he says when he's done: "I love these. That's my brother!" oh wow, one can only hope he thinks as fondly of him when they are older. maybe so. Mondays continues be at this point a joint swim day, with Nicholas and William both there in the morning. Bob, one of the other grandparents will he there to take on William, while I have Nicholas. We will see how this arrangement goes. So far they continue to show, but Nicholas really isn't all that happy with the arrangement, and that was more than evident this oast Monday. I have a feeling I will end up being there on my own, as Bob really isn't into swimming, and to do this jointly may cause alot of confusion for both boys, from an attitude perspective alone. Time will tell. Friday will continue to be our new free and travel day, with no obligations for the boys, except to have fun, whether we are at a river, the aquarium, wherever. Yahoo on that! My hike day at this point moves to Tuesdays which means all my social stuff moves to Monday afternoons. shesshhh! I need a calendar!  anyways... onwards! and bring on the adjustments that Fall season always brings.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Night were our swimming days this week. That's alot of pool time! William went Thursday, Nicholas Monday, Wednesday and Friday nght. The big pool also reopened! Nicholas was more than elated. Nicholas still loves going, and continues to do well in the pool. He's been making lots of new friends when he goes. it's fun to see him connect up with kids when he gets there. Nicholas and I will continue to swim on Friday night, as he so loves that experience, at a pool that is not his normal pool. They have been very fun times for him. We are still trying to "convince" Nicholas that swim lessons would be great, but he is adamant that he does not want to do them. silly boy! All in good time. This past Wednesday the senior guard there, a really great lady, excellent with young kids, sees us heading to the big pool. So she comes over to Nicholas and asks him if she can swim with him. He asked me is he could, so DUH, yes was the answer. so off they went. wow, incredible, she basically put him through a swim test/lesson combo type of thing, but in a way that he had fun, didn't mind doing all she asked of him. followed her example on alot of stuff. yahoo! sure was nice to see him take instruction like that, and do rather well with it. We took a huge step forward that day. I so hope she can make a few more appearances to let Nicholas see that the guards are good people, that they can teach him things, and that he will be an ever better swimmer for it, that it will help him do all that he loves to do there. WOOT WOOT WOOT!! I loved it, such a great thing. In the meantime I teach him what I can, and marvel at how well he does on his own. Nicholas has been trying very hard to swim what one considers a normal swim: big arms, kicks. last night he made several laps in the lazy river, trying to do just that. Not too badly either! He spent what was close to 20 minutes at the Snohomish pool on Friday night jumping in, swimming out to me and swimming back to the wall, and repeating that process over and over again. All on his own. Awesome! Pool time with William was great. He has taken to this just like his brother did. He loves all he did. We continue to do all we can just to let him try everything. We even had a few dunks under water, those he didn't mind, no fuss, no tears, no fear. I put him trough the same "drills" I did with Nicholas, we stayed about an hour, until he was tired. We had a few tries with blowing bubbles in the water, with alot of success. It is so great to see that he doesn't mind putting his face in the water, even did a few on his own. Success I think. This should be fun. GO NICK! GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. He was so happy to see that burger and fries combo show up, just like always. Somehow I think that is part of the magic of Friday night swims: that he gets burgers etc after his swim. Yesterday we again talked about our week, swimming with the guard on Wednesday, trips to the science center and the aquarium, and future visit to the Skykomish River in Gold Bar, and Skykomish. He was really into that discussion, as he does remember last year in October when we went to the same river, and watched the big fish do their annual run. I so hope to repeat that again this year. He still talks about his camping trip with his family, and wants to go back. What fun time, talking through mouthfuls full of burgers and fries.

Nick's Pics continue!. He still loves the camera, takes them from time to time. this week he wanted to take a few of the the Aquarium fish. Not too bad! I love his perspective on things, how he changes angles to get a different picture. creative! ;-) Love those: interesting what he chooses to take pics of.

Monday morning, after the boys swim time, I spent the afternoon in Seattle, visiting my friend for coffee and some catch up. I am so glad that this still will fit into the fall lineup! :-D

Tuesday I met with my son Anthony for breffis. We still go every other week,to a nice Pancake type place that serves lots of very good food. It is nice to be able to do that: get together and catch up on what is new. The restaurant is a great place: any kind o breakfast food you can imagine, and it is all good. and lots of it! I always end up going home with a doggie bag.  Hair cut time after that, an appt I could not change, so had to forgo hiking to wrap up some dangling Tuesday appointments. I did take off after my appt for a drive over HWY 2 to see some fall color, and visit Leavenworth, spending some of the afternoon there. There still is not too much color heading over the pass, it ought to be better and in full swing in a week or so,. bummer on today, but I figure that just gives me an excuse to go back. I got in a few sport walks on the Icicle River, and the Wenatchee. There is a waterfront park in Leavenworth that I spent some time on. that really is nice. And full of big fat salmon. really cool to see the fish,. I also visited the trail head of one of the hikes that goes up into the Enchantments, and walked some of that. WOW, was that ever good. I will have to go back sometime and hike the trail. Not that day however, as it is a long 12 mile minimum hike. Sure was gorgeous though. and so went today.... rain and clouds and weather, and some color. nice time!

Wednesday After Nicholas's swim time, we went for a walk at the Mesika Trail, by the Lynnwood Pool. We thought it would be fun to check on the berries there, see if there still were some blackberries, do one more berry run at the pool trail . That was so fun. Nicholas found some time ago a hidden patch of wild raspberries, still remembered where it was, so this week he once again climbed on in looking for more. Bummer was the response when he found they were all gone. Elation when he found blackberries nearby. He got his fill, and so did William. ;-) We thought we had eaten them all over the course of the past few weeks, but found a few this week.   It was fun. We ended up doing the whole trail, with alot of play time throughout of walk. Muddy play time...

Thursday after William's swimming and Nicholas's school We crammed in a visit to the Pacific Science Center in the afternoon, since by the time I got Nicholas the rains were still with us. it seemed like a good choice. We managed to do a whirlwind run of the place, and still see and enjoy what they did chose to visit. That took a little ship steering so that they didn't feel rushed and still had fun. I love that place. great stuff. The sun came out late in out visit, so we also managed some time outdoors in their water park. Awesome science at work there. :-D

Friday was our travel day, and since the weather was AWFUL and WET, and RAINY we opted for a visit to the Seattle Aquarium. It has been some time since we have been able to go. Nicholas was excited, he really foes enjoy that place. William was excited just to see "FISHIES!" and kept saying that over and over anytime he saw water.  Boys had a great time. William just loves the tropical fish tanks. Nicholas just loves everything. It was nice to have the sun poke through a little when we were done, so spent some time on the waterfront park too. YAY! Outdoor time! We had lunch #2 on the waterfront, just enjoying the sun, and the tourists and all those seagulls. Of course the boys had to chase those. So funny to see William crawl at warp speed after them     Turned out to be a great day in the city with the fishies.

I am sitting here this morning, just like last week, trying to think what to write about the kitties.... and just like last week, thinking alot too about Mannie, and all the adventures he planned to for all the LL kitties. I so miss those days, and the fun, and relief from all the FD and the stress that comes with it. AT the risk of being repetitive, this is what I wrote last week - and will repost, as it really was much the same this week, even the part about Nicholas and Mannie". Yesterday was an interesting day in that Nicholas wanted to talk about Mannie. He has another infection in a wart on his arm, so we were en-route to meet his mom,a d take him tot he DR, for what turns out to be another round of anti-biotics. He was talking about the DR, and then asked me: "Grammie, what happened to Mannie?" oh boy.... what a loaded question that was. It told him it was time, a year and a half ago, for Mannie to leave, and go live in his Special Garden. To which he said: "He had bad bugs? In his blood and stuff? " so started a discussion on sickness, and bad bugs, and being gone. He talked about his kitty Serval who crossed to the Bridge a few months ago, and how she had bad bugs, and was gone. He then said "I think she has found Mannie, and his Special Garden. Somehow I bet she has. It was incredible to me how logical he was on it all, how understanding he was on illnesses that take kitties from us, and how relieved he was that they have this special place that they go to. He talked alot abut Mannie after that, and how much he misses him. Hard to believe that he is only 3.5 years old." That discussion came up again this week, when we were heading to the Aquarium. We passed by the vet, I made some comment about how that was the kitties vet, and Nicholas corrected me by saying that was Mannie's vet. So that was the discussion on the way to the city: Mannie. What I would give to be able to give him back those days... They are such good memories.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties are all doing well. Not too much new with them... Fall mode is here, they are bunkering down, but still yearning for the great outdoors when the sun is out. Elsa is still some what grounded after her "late night" adventure last week. Bug could care less, Lola is ALWAYS grounded. We will have the deck door replaced soon, step one on the catio development. I still haven't done much more than that. Finances are always tough this time of year as all comes due in October: car insurance, homeowners insurance, property taxes, and on and on and on.  Lola, I have not forgotten your catio.... but you may have to wait a bit longer. ;-)

Have a great caturday everyone. Sorry this post it late today. Time this morning got away from me. At least the shopping is done, and eh laundry. :-D I am off in a few for an afternoon walk in the woods. The day has turned sunny, and warm. WOOT!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY CATURDAY

I'm glad things are working out with the new fall schedule. It's great Nicholas enjoys William's swimming so much. I love Nick's pics. It is great he loves taking pictures so much. on William crawling after the seagulls. I'm glad the kitties are all doing well.

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY CATURDAY

happy caturday night LL! Hope your day has been good. I manged to get the shopping done, and the laundry, WOOT! Mission accomplished. The day here has been so nice: sunny and about 62, so who could stay indoors and do chores and cleaning when it was like that? not me! So off to the shore I went, and enjoyed the afternoon in my usual haunt: Meadowdale. Been a great day! Time now for some R&R. ;-)

Hi Carla ~O) :-D THX! and me too on the new shcedule. it has taken some getting used to but all seems to be falling into place. I thought so too on Nicholas enjoying his brothers time in the pool. It is so great to see the support, even when he can't be there. Aren't Nick's Pics great? I think it is so fun that he wants to try. Funny when he takes something he doesn't like, and promptly asks me to get rid of it. Funny too that those deletes don't happen much. I so had to alugh too when William went after the seagulls, it was that wrap speed crawl that did it.   THX too on the furkids, all is indeed well.

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY CATURDAY

Wow Michelle, you have a couple of real water babies- that's awesome! And so neat that Nicholas has an understanding of the loss of Mannie, and what happens when we lose a kitty, that's heat you can help him to talk about losses, that's a life skill. This is the best time of the year for hiking in my book, we love to go and hike and look for mushrooms around Plain and Leavenworth, Icicle being one of them. I try to avoid the town due to Octoberfest- way too crowded, but soon the leaf color should be spectacular-can't wait to see your pics! :-D Here's hoping for just a few more nice days like today, scritches to Elsa, Lola and Bug! :-D

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY CATURDAY

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the visit. I love hearing all your adventures - I reckon you'd be an awesome grandma! It's lovely that Nicholas still talks about Mannie. You and Mannie have given him friendship with animals - he'll understand that forever.

Elsa - I'm having troubles in the mornings again - Mannie used to sneak out at night to bring a coffee to me all the way in Australia. Time zones are tricky things. Do you think you could manage it too? Your specials sound so yummy.

Grace

Elsa - if you comes here for te coffee, do you wanna go rabbit huntin after my bean's done jabbing at me? They're BIG and DANGEROUS animals but they smells so interestings and I fink I'll be brave enough to go with you. Normally I go hunting wif my bean but she makes too much noises - you wouldnt belief!

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY CATURDAY

Good Morning, Michelle,

Another busy week for you, do you think??! Love the pics of William in the pool. In some of them he looks exactly like Nicholas at that age. The boys are doing great and it is wonderful that they are adjusting to the new schedule. Now that you have a basic plan, you can fine tune it as necessary.

Icicle River is beautiful, and the fall color is beginning to come out, I see. Here we are at absolute peak: the reds and orange/reds are spectacular this year. We're feeling better and will go on the paddle on the Cedar River Flow tomorrow. The color there may be gorgeous (it is further south and the forest is a different mix of trees). Thanks for your get-well thoughts and thank Elsa for the ~O) . Delicious this morning.

Today is Stu's 4th anniversary of his arrival at the Bridge. I know that he and Mannie are happy and busy in their Two Chefs' Kitchen. Please tell Nicholas that Mannie is certainly happy and that he is looking out for Nicholas's kitty who recently arrived at the Bridge.

Have a good week!! Keep busy!!!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY SUNDAY L

Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! I Love coffee!), and Happy Sunday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Coffee is on, Lola and Bug , founders of Paw Prints Pizza, are ready to go! Want pizza? it is MEGA GOOD! They are busy getting ready for.... uh.... I dunno! but there sure is a flurry of activity in the kitchen. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot Breve's, with beans from high in the Brazilian Mountains.... and for my mocha fans: a VENTI Quad Blueberry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, swirled with a raspberry puree, topped with a strawberry infused whip garnished with caramelized berry sprinkles and white chocolate curls and a caramel drizzle.......SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of 4 berry and vanilla and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with caramel and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

Good Morning Everyone! It still is morning, isn't it? It is so foggy here one cannot even see out the window.... Well, at ;least across the street,When I got up this morning, the sun was starting to make an appearance, with such a tiny hint of a nice sunrise. But (!!) this is fall in the PNW, and fog this time of year is a given, the questions is when will it show. I took a chance, and headed on out to the beach at Picnic Point. There was a band of pink on the horizon, but wow, just north one could see that creeping fog. I really do enjoy fog. it makes for wonderful walks, and some awesome photos. The walk was a work in progress this morning, and a great time just watching the transformation from pastel sunrise to fog dominance. I decided on the way home to see if the woods were being transformed too. It was just starting there,. By the time I got home it had taken over. I almsot wish I had stayed longer, I may have to go back out! ;-)

have a great Sunday LL! it is time for me to buckle down with some household chores, like CLEAN , and get the bills paid etc. Maybe if tome is on my side I can get back out today. Paws crossed!

Hi Ruth ~O) ~O) ~O) That I do! Both boys LOVE the water, whether it is a pool, a beach or a river. They love it, and have a healthy respect for it too, so we go as often as we can. I am pleased that Nicholas has accepted, and can udnerstand what happened to his best buddy. He seemed to understand what I was telling him. That was a relief, as he really is only 3 and a half and such concepts can be so difficult to grasp when on is so young. I SO AGREE on Fall being the best hiking season. The temps are perfect, and the views are exceptional, not to mention all that fall color. I too love the Leavenworth area, and also will avoid the craziness that comes with OctoberFest. So.... I went almost too early last week, and will make a return trip in a week or so. That and up to the North Cascades, also a very fine place in Fall.

Hi Grace ~O) ~O) ~O) THX (!!) for the visit. I am sorry that Angie is back on the juice, and hope her return to LL is a short one. paws crossed! THX on our adventures too. We do have alot of fun! I think it is wodnerful that Nicholas still remembers his best buddy, and still wants to talk about him, and why he is no longer here. I hope so too on his ability to form those friendships with animals. It was there for him from the beginning, and continues today.
Auntie Grace!!! NO PROBLEM! I deliver global, so have you covered. Mannie told me all about his adventures in getting to Australia, so no worries! I know all his tricks! :-D I will bring you two! Just in case... see ya soon! ~~ Elsa, Kitteh barista
ANGIE! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so wanna go! that would be major cool, ya know. We can do this together. I will bring one of my civvies, Lola, too. She is mega crazy but is a really good hunter. She brings my bean all kinds of things.... I know on them beans, what is up with all the noise they makes! How can a kitty get any decent hunting in when they are there... We can do this! on my way! ~~ Elsa

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) LOL, and yes, another BUSY week!  I don't think I'd know what to do it it wasn't busy.... THX on the pics, and on William's efforts in the pool. I have been taken back several times when I have him there, thinking how alike he is and how much his endeavors in the pool are like his brothers. Yupp on the Fall schedule, coming together. YAY! Right you are on the Icicle River. I love that place, the rivers are so pretty, and in some cases very accessible! How wonderful on your reds and oranges.I think my visit this past week was almost too early, the colors should be much better over the next couple of weeks, so back I go! I hoe you have a great paddle, and that the colors are at their best there too.
ya know, I thought of Stu this morning. i was on the beach, and thoughts of Stu just came to the surface. How wonderful that it was on the anniversary of his passing. How I miss those days of Mannie and Stu. But you are right: they are indeed happy and cooking their hearts out in Two Chef's Kitchen. I will pass the thoughts onto Nicholas. He knows some of the Bridge, but can relate more to Mannie's Special Garden, which has a physical place he can see. He does know that his kitty Serval sees and plays with Mannie. kinda cool. it makes him happy to know they are all happy too.

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY SUNDAY L

How cool on the fog pictures. I love the fog. I hope you got your chores done and were able to get back out today.

Re: 9/27 LOOSE LIPS: pools, rains, fishies... HAPPY SUNDAY L

Hi Carla ~O) :-D THX on the pics. I love fog too, and will not hesitate to go out when that is what I will see. I did get the chores all done, but no sun for us, fog remained here until 3PM. I probably should have gone out for more, but just never seemed to make it. Oh well, there is always tomorrow! :-D

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! I just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, kitteh barista pilot!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! In honor of Tuna Tuesday, once again Lola and Bug, aka Paw Prints Pizza, will make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! It's tradition!, and these pizza pies totally rock! and as a side benefit we have TUNA WATER too! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... OH! forget it... no tuna mochas. BLECH! OH!!!!!!!!! My bean went to this coffee place yesterday.... I KNOW! she went somewhere else... but they had this fall latte thngie, called pumpkin spice, and well this barista has to admit, it was kinda nice, so.... For today an Elsa special: Pumpkin Spice Latte, with a hint of vanilla. Good huh!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Elsa so wanted to do a Tuna Tuesday this morning. And so here we are. Can you believe that tomorrow it will be October? Where has the time gone....
Yesterday was a decent Monday for us. It was a swimming morning yesterday. Both boys were in the pool, with the other grandparents, and me. I still go just to help them out, and to help keep Nicholas on track, and help them learn what it is he likes to do while there. Bob and Pat are great people, but just not used to the chaos that a morning swim can entail. It was a busy day on the pool yesterday. William had a good time, was trying so hard to keep up with big brother. He watches everything that he does. He even went down the water slides a few times, with our help. He handles the water hitting him for all sides really well, even laughed some. Nicholas made a few new friends, and had a blast in the big pool. We were able to get William in there for a it too. He really seemed to like being there, enjoyed seeing all that water. ;-) so, all in all, a fun day at the pool.

I made Seattle in the afternoon, Monday being my new day to hit the city, see friends for coffee. Sure was a wet one in the city. rains everywhere. I guess fall has truly arrived in the PNW.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille. Lola, Bug and Elsa continue to do well. With all this rain they have been curled up in their beds, avoiding all that wet. Elsa hasn't really asked to go out, and if she does, she's right back in. She, unlike Mannie, never has really liked the rains. Bug could care less, Lola still holds vigil by the windrows, hoping that sometime they will be open, without the screens, and her means to escape will be there.... I often wonder what she would think of all that wet. She's still my faucets are cool kitty, so I expect that she'd like the rain. She's been a busy girl, just like she always is: lots of railing walking, frig door top sitting, and just getting into places she shouldn't be. Silly cat, never ever a dull moment with Lola. A for sure case of normalcy in MusketeerVille. cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone. I had hoped to be hiking today up in the North Cascades, but the weather here really isn't that favorable. There is even some snow activity expected. I can find a few dry spots, but only for an hour or two at a time.... MAJOR BUMMER! I may just make a road tip day out if it, go to Whidbey Island, explore the shoreline there. it seems to be the driest place. Paws crossed, and time will tell.

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

It sounds like things are really working out pool wise, the other GPs will get the hang of it soon. Whidbey Island sounds like fun, I hope you can stay dry!

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

We can never read the stories of Mannie and Nicholas too many times. What a special pair. And we so love the parties, the pizza, the adventures and everything that Mannie and the crewe organized and Rusty and his crewe organize now. Laughter and fun are such wonderful relief from the stress of FD. I don't think we could have made this dance last so long without the medicine of laughter. :YMHUG:

I shall have a pizza with tuna in Germany in honor of all the LL kitties past and present. (Yes, they do have tuna on bean pizza, and I've never tried it before).

   My first meal in Italy was tuna spaghetti!

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

Whew! I am exhausted reading all that. Who knew retirement would be so busy! Sounds wonderful though. It is so exciting that Williams is getting into the swimming and Nicholas is so proud of him. He really is a great big brother.

I love to hear Nicholas talk about Mannie. They had such a great bond. It is so hard to believe Nicholas is only 3 1/2. He is wise beyond his years. DH always says that kids who grow up around animals turn out to be such well adjusted thoughtful adults. I believe that is true. They learn compassion at an early age and it stays with them, a lot like Mannie will always be with Nicholas.

Have a great day Michelle!!

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

Hi Michelle,
I hope your hike today wasn't rained out. At last you are getting the weather that Seattle is famous for!
Tuna pizza sounds good, especially with good Italian tuna in olive oil.

How wonderful that thoughts of Stu popped into your head on his anniversary day, before you actually knew that it was the anniversary. Mannie certainly was communicating!

Enjoy the rest of your busy week. I hope the weather improves.

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & rain, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL!

I'm glad the swimming is going well. It sounds like you have two "fish" now. I hope you were able to find somewhere dry to get out to today. The kitties have the right idea on these rainy days, sleeping in.

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your visit the other day.

but they had this fall latte thngie, called pumpkin spice
Is that a real coffee flavour? I've seen syrups in cafes to put in coffe but they're normally caramel or hazelnut, not pumpkin spice! I can't imagine what pumpkin and coffee would taste like.

Elsa - your coffee is working wonders today. ~O) ~O) :-D

Elsa and Lola - what fun we had huntin rabbits! You guys should come again - I can't belief how brave you were! My bean says they're hurtin the trees in the orchard and we gots ta catch as many as we can. Maybe we can invite all the kittehs from LL? Whats about a bunny party?! There's frogs in the pond now too -they're very surprising! Love Angie, the not-quite-yet-a-country-girl.

Re: 9/27-30 LOOSE LIPS: pools & hikes, HAPPY TUNA TUESDAY LL

WHOA! Look at all these posts!   :-D And here I thought I had the night off! ;-) Seriously though, thank you all for the visits! I did make it our on a hike, just not the one I really wanted. I had so hoped to make the North Cascades, see that fall color... not today. Weather was really iffy, with rains on and off, and some of the road and mtns were reporting snow for a bit this morning. So.... I took the easy way out, and went to Whidbey Island instead. One can never go wrong with Whidbey! The drive on SR 20 was great! The sun was making an attempt heading west, which made the drive great. Whidbey Island an be so picturesque! I stopped in at a small lake, Pass Lake, on the way there, just to see it. Beautiful! My destination was the bluffs of Ebey State Park, and area just north of Coupeville. LOVED that hike, a cliff hike, that offered such great views of the sound, and the mountains. It was a new section of whidbey today for me: fort ebey state park, rather than deception or ebey's landing. That was nice. I really enjoyed it. Good weather, a little windy but pretty! I visited the war gunnery there too. That was cool! There were about three guys there that were attempting to parasail. I'm not to sure if they ever got them off the ground or not. The winds were good, but kept pushing them back. One guy did get off the ground, onlt to end up not taking any air, and over the side of the cliff he went. He just couldn't get the lift, so visited the beach instead of the skies. A really fun time watching those guys. Also went to Coupeville, just cuz I could, which ia very small quaint town south of the park. I spent maybe an hour there window shopping. Nice little town. Did the touristy thing too and walked the Deception Pass Bridge on the way home. all in all, a nice day on whidbey. WOO HOO!

AND!!! I so thought of all the LL kitties, especially Mannie and Tess when I watched those parasails... Tess? you remember???? You were, are, so good at it! Mannie tried, but he always ended up on the stratosphere!

Hi Ann ~O) :-D Me too on the pool. It will get there sooner or later. They are slowly improving and the boys seem to enjoy having them. the lesson/instruction part will still fall on my shoulders, they just don't now how. but that's OK. Whidbey was GREAT! and yes on the dry - it was gorgeous over there! LOL on the tuna spaghetti! wow, wonders never cease! :-D

Hi Anne ~O) :-D Seriously? Tuna on bean pizza??????    wow, i do hop you let us know how that is! And THX so much on the comments on Nicholas and Mannie. They were so tight. It has been hard in a way to help him understand about Mannie's illness, but we have been trying. he understand so much for only being 3.5! incredible.... :-D I can tell too that his mom and dad have as well. now that they have lost one of theirs. I am ever so grateful for all the support, and the laughter we all had, with the LL parties, all of it. I SO AGREE that laughter is such a stress reliever from all that comes with FD. SO TRUE!

Hi Melissa ~O) :-D I know on retirement!   I had NO CLUE! but am grateful that it is as it is: Busy. THX too on Nicholas: he really is so proud of William. He truly has been such a good big brother. It is so cool to see William taking to the water too. he just has so much fun there, isn't bothered by any of it, even when he is splashed in the face. Awesome! THank you too on the Nicholas Mannie stories. I voe it when he talks about him etc. They are all such good memories for him, so so cool! he loves it that Mannie has a special garden, even more so that he knows he is happy. What 3.5 year old thinks that? I cans till see him helping me test Mannie, he knew what to do, watched, and helped pet Mannie while he was tested. he was barely 2 then. love it all. I agree too on the comment by your DH. I am a form believer in that. it does amke a difference.

Hi Ella ~O) :-D we had good weather!!! of course I headed to the place I felt had the best cahnce of that,. not the place I wanted to be, but it still was a very good time. LOL, ad true on that Seattle weatehr. RAIN!!!! After all this tuna pizza talk I will have to try it... with the right stuff it could be good. AND YES!!! I so agree on the thoughts on Stu. it was the same day.... how wonderful! I really hadn't thought it was the anniversary day until I got to the forum. I knew it was around this time, just hadn't made the connection. I think you are right on Mannie communicating. he sure has been doing alot of that lately. :-D THX on the upcoming days: forecast has been revised, some sun will be there. YAY!!!!

Hi Carla ~O) :-D Many THX on the swimming. I am too. it is such a relief to see it starting to gel more. YAY! YUPP! We have TWO fishies! :-D    Those kitties sure do! mine I think are ,asters at it.  Except maybe for Lola, who makes her own music.

Hi Grace ~O) :-D You are welcome! And yes! that is a real flavor. it is a signature Starbucks latte. Do you have Starbucks where you are? they are everywhere here in the states. Fall rolls around and they begin to make their pumpkin Spice Lattes. I believe it is one of their syrup flavors, but not too sure. i will try and remember to check the next time i am there, which is almost daily.
Hey Angie! We did too! them rabbits are FAST! OOOOOOO! We can comes again? I am so there! We can't have them messin' with the trees. not good! We will come and help then. OOOO, yes!!! let's invite all the kitties! We all LOVE to travel, and it has been ages since we have been there. Let's do it! AND YOU HAVE FROGS TOO>?????
