Bron and Sheba (GA)

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say I will probably not be around for a while. We have spring school holidays just starting, then I have a week to get the place ready (a big job!) before my DH's sister and family come out from the UK to stay with us for a month. So I probably won't have much of a chance to get on the computer...although I want to try and check how everyone is going.

Sheba appears to be well, although she is still showing a small amount of blood in her urine, which I am not happy about. I am sure the bladder inflammation is affecting her BSLs. She is managing the Feliway collar well, although she scratches it sometimes...she is not used to anything around her neck.
My heart is behaving itself and I am feeling my old self again.

Sending special vines to Tricia and Harvey, Elise and her DM and Max, and Julie and Eleanor.:bighug::bighug::bighug:
I hope everyone and their fur babies stay well.

Bron, have a lovely holiday! We'll miss you and Sheba, so pop in when you can. :bighug:

edited to add - are you giving her cosequin for her bladder? That can toughen up the lining of the bladder. I know you don't have as easy of access to non-prescription items, but if you can get this one it can help with bladder issues sometimes.

So good to hear that your heart is behaving itself, and that you are back to feeling yourself.

Enjoy the Spring Holiday with your grandkids. Sounds like you have a busy few weeks planned:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Julie, Elise, Gill and Carla for looking in on us and for your good wishes.

@julie & punkin (ga) thanks for the information on cosequin.
Sheba had been getting cartrophen injections for quite a while for her arthritis which the vet said also helps her bladder.........not helping much at the moment though :(.
She also gets a product from PAWS called Osteosupport which has chondroitin sulphates in it and omega 3 fatty acids. I have looked up cosequin here in Australia and it looks like it has to be shipped from the US for cats.. But there is cosequin for dogs freely available here.
Do you know the strength of the cosequin for cats? The dog version is glucosamine 500mg, and sodium chondroitin 400 mg plus magnesium gluconate and calcium ascorbate.
I buy the PAWS dogs version in the Osteosupport as it is the same strength for dogs and cats and is a lot cheaper (thanks @Voula for pointing that out to me!). So maybe with a bit of luck the dog and cat cosequin is the same strength and I will be able to buy it here. I have almost finished the bottle of PAWS Osteosupport so will swap to the cosequin if I can source it. Thx.

Nice to have a Sheba update, I'm glad she is feeling better and that the small residue of bladder inflammation soon clears up.

I can't believe you are getting ready for spring already - we are getting ready for autumn and the leaves have started to drop already. Good to hear that you are feeling more like your old self Bron, and I hope the visit of your SIL and her family is stress free - don't go undoing all your good work by overdoing things. Take care of yourself :bighug:

Hi Bron,

I hope you all enjoy the holidays and it's great news you are feeling well. Sending vines for Sheba, that the bladder inflammation is clearing, and she stays stable for you while you have your visitors :)

I'm so glad to hear that your heart is behaving itself. It's a big one, and it requires extra care! :bighug:

I hope the Cosequin helps Sheba. I swear it made a huge difference for Sasha with her joint issues, and Harvey has been on it since he was first suspected to have intestinal lymphoma or IBD. I'm glad you found a source at a reasonable price.

We understand why you won't be able to post a lot, but please just give us an update once a week or so, even if it's just a sentence or two, so we know all is well. We worry about each other here, you know. ;)

Thanks Sarah, Tricia and Voula for looking in on us.
@Voula thanks for that link. I had a quick look but couldn't see the ingredients, but will check it out further tomorrow.

@Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey .......... I intend trying to have a quick look as often as I can to check on everyone.........thanks for caring:bighug::bighug:
