Yesterday's condo

After a fun filled night of poking and feeding, China's in a surprisingly good mood...her mommabean on the other hand is a wee bit wiped out. As expected, she did bounce, so I went ahead and shot through the bounce and will take the reduction at PMPS

She's coming down nicely today, and I hope she just continues to clear the bounce and when I drop to .75, she'll continue to give me those pretty numbers instead of climbing again like she's done on the last couple of reductions.

Looks like you had quite the busy cycle last night. But how beautiful those safe green surfs can be. Hopefully you are able to get some rest today. Way to go China.

Well, China broke the bounce!! At PMPS we're only at 69 so I'm stalling until she's coming up and then reducing to .75...although I'm tempted to either give her .5 or even skip for tonight and let her shed drain a little, but I'd hate to lose the momentum we've got going!

Any suggestions? Would really appreciate some advice!

I'd see where she is in 1/2 hour. If she's coming up quite a bit, you could do the new dose. FWIW, I might not have shot through the bounce with only a low yellow this morning. She does seem to be clearing her bounces a lot faster!

How tired are you? Could you stay up tonight? Do you have the works (strips, HC, etc.)?

Yes, I can stay up and have all the hypo stuff I'd need. My reason for shooting this morning was because of how high she went so quickly...from 88 to over 200 in 3 hours I was concerned she'd keep going even higher

It'll be time to retest in a few minutes, so I'll see where she's at. I'm really upset with my meter right now. I have both the Prime and the Confirm and have been using the Prime lately because the strips are cheaper, but on the first 5 tests, I got E13 error which is supposed to mean not enough of a sample, but each time there was a pretty big drop of blood so I don't know why it kept doing that. I finally used the Confirm to get the 69...and tried one more time to use the Prime and still got another error

OK, at 12.5 she's up to 76...and very hungry! Now I just need to decide if I should wait another 30 or go ahead and shoot...and if I shoot, how much?

Hi Chris-
I'm no expert but you've shot before when China was low and you are able to monitor through the night. The numbers are on the rise so I would shoot but you've got the needle. Marje guided me through many shooting low's and I just got comfortable with it so that's my perspective. You have a lot of data on your SS and I know you are needing to make a decision. What are you feeling? What are you comfortable doing?

edit to add: and I think you earned a decrease by the lows last night (33). What do you think about .75?

Depending on meter variance, not sure if that both +12 and +12.5 were the same meter, she is either surfing or coming up. If you shoot the 1.0 .75U, I'd get at least a +1 and maybe a +.5. You could always give her medium carb food later if she's dancing a little low for your tastes.

What you shoot is really up to you and your comfort level, just as Karen says.

ETA: Oops above, I meant .75U tonight.

Oh yeah...we're definitely doing the reduction tonight..I shot through the bounce this morning, but had every intention of taking the reduction tonight.

Going to go ahead and test again..if she's still going up, I'll give her the .75 and just be prepared for whatever might happen


Edited to add..yes, both numbers were on the same meter...The Prime gave me another E13 error, so I used the Confirm again

OK..I pulled the trigger!! Gave .75 at 91 and will get a +1 and go from there. China also ate almost an entire 1/2 can of 8% Wellness Core..she hardly ever eats that much, so she was a very hungry kitty!! I went with a little higher carb at PMPS so hopefully she'll surf in some nice calm numbers overnight. Thanks for all the support tonight everyone!

Edited to add..SHOOT!! I grabbed the wrong variety of Wellness Core...I grabbed the 13% instead of the 8% so we'll just have to see how she does
