9/26 Boris and I are at emergency/specialty vet/2300 update

Boris hasn't improved. Yesterday evening he seemed "brighter" but this AM he was much weaker - barely able to stand on his hind legs. I had given him his insulin and then...he would eat nothing. Joe force fed him this AM. We visited our vet this AM but he's out of suggestions. We even took xrays to see if we were missing anything that way. So we are here at the specialty center - they took us as an emergency but as I'm typing this - they are going to forego those charges and just take us as a regular internal med patient. I'm well known here now - first with our Tang (no WBC's???) and now with Fiona (mass in lung and to be seen here on Thursday) and here today with Boris.....thank god for care credit!

I can't stop shaking - i'm so worried but just was told his BG is ok so that's a relief - it was a long 1 hour ride here.
please if you could all spare a kind thought for him - it would mean alot to us.

Patti- you are probably the sweetest, most caring person I know ... (worrying about Cody on a day that you rushed off to the ER with Boris...?)

Thank you so much for all your kind words and thoughts. They have have helped keep my spirits up thruout the long day.

Boris and I arrived at Summit vet @ 2:30pm and they hooked him up to IV fluids right away. After talking with the IM DR (who takes care of Tang) the plan was for some blood work and an ultrasound. They were going to fit him in the schedule sometime.

So the u/s showed inflammation of the pancreas, a bumpy bladder (possible chronic inflammation), several nodules on his liver (which they aspirated), and several enlarged lymph nodes (again aspirated). Both aspirants will be sent for cytology. Urine was gotten for a culture. Bld was sent for an fpli and CBC. They did a quick check of his hematocrit or PVC - and it was only 26 (30 is the low norm).

So hopefully "just" pancreatitis???? or triaditis??? and worse case - lymphoma. All I know is he looks more comfortable tonite. I finally got to see and hold him about 7:30pm. He got Buprenex for the pain and he laid in my arms purring. I haven't seen him that comfortable in days. My heart ached but I'm so glad I brought him in. I stayed with him till my husband came after work to see him too. Boris even ate 1/3 can of food EAGERLY! That was the best yet.

Tomorrow I'll go back and see what the next step is. They said he could stay 1-2 days. Some of the labs will be back in the AM. I spent the time there today getting almost caught up on his SS. Dr Herman is now going to be helping me with his DM. I feel better about that too.

((((((((Patti and Boris)))))))) Glad the bupe made him a purry cuddler. I am wishing everything comes back okay. I have never dealt with triaditis myself but a number of members on the assist feeding forum have. So when you find out let me know and I'll search the archives and ask if anyone knows of a good online resource for you. Did they give you more bupe and fluids for Boris. Sending you lots of hugs.

I'm glad Boris is more comfortable, eating, etc. I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts.

I hope it's only triaditis and not cancer.

Glad the bupe gave Boris some relief. He is such a sweet cat
and a fighter, too.

Oh my .. I did not know boris was so sick .. I am glad to read the update and that he is looking more comfortable now .. I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers ...

I'm glad to read that he ate some fuds tonight. That's positive news! I'm still sending tons and tons of healing vines and positive thoughts for Boris, and sendings tons and tons of {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for you both, too. I'm wishing for God to help Boris make a full and speedy recovery. I'll be waiting for your next update of his progress. Eating is a GOOD sign. :-D

Oh Patti...thinking about you & Boris. Glad to hear you got to spend some precious time together. Purring & earring are indeed good signs. Sure do hope you have a better night & that tomorrow brings new hope. Take care dear ones.
